Father & Son Buy and Build a 7.

Hi All, Hope you don't mind me asking a question on this thread. We sold J889 (back to the original builder) over a year ago because of the arrival of our first child - George, who is now a little over two. So, my question is: what is the youngest age you think a boy would be able to enjoy helping and understand what they are doing when building a new 7 from kit? Not knowing much about children(!) my guess (well, desired answer!) is probably around age 7...but I'm sure the people of blatchat will have more to offer.... Please let me know what you think and thanks in advance! Ross -
Polley Motorsport just sold me a set of 4 A021Rs in 185/70/13R and say they have a small stock of this and also other sizes available. Price has moved to £55 + VAT. Ross

Whereabouts in mid-Sussex are you, please, g-f-w? ross -
So, if I read this correctly, if they are more than a 15% improvement in performance then they fail this regulation, is that correct?

I'm still hoping to get 014 but won't be able to order until tomorrow earliest. Am also pondering the engraving...anyone willing to share what they are going to have inscribed? -

Great news, Alex! We are planning the order already...can you advise what the character limit for the engraving on the back will be (assuming I've understood the pics correctly from update 3)? Really pleased your efforts have come to something! Thanks again! Ross -

I'm definitely in for C3. And if this goes ahead (and Alex doesn't mind managing the distribution of the run numbers on top of everything already done) I would like 014. Trying to decide if I would want the other one vs missing out on not having the L7C watch. Are Christopher Ward the sole stockists or does anyone know of stockists in London (or Sevenoaks!) that would allow me to go and see the watch before making a decision. Alex - how long until you close the survey/make a decision, or is it a matter of waiting to see how many responses come in? I haven't done the survey yet (per the above - don't have the answer to qu.3), but am definitely in for the C3. Thanks for all your efforts so far on this. I really hope it comes to something, as does SWMBO because it makes the effort of deciding this year'is birthday present (and probably a couple of years into the future as well!) very easy for her! So, thoughts on stockists? Ross -

I suggested a C5 in my response, but I do like the C8 pilot...should have read the chain first! Shame they already have a C7 model in their range... And yes, if there are to be numbers, I would say that we drop 3,6,9 & 12 and only have the 7! "At this stage it appears that two designs, in different styles and price points, will be presented to the club to vote on. The winner will be selected as the club watch." It might be difficult to do, but as a suggestion could it be that those who vote have to pay their £50 deposit and if the watch they voted for is chosen then they are already committed. Those who voted for the other have the option of a refund. That way only those prepared to put down money are casting votes that count....just a thought? Love the idea in all its forms...watches are cool, wearing something relatively unique, supporting British firm and once again bringing club members together to achieve something that would otherwise never have been done. Nice one! Ross
