  1. Geoff Just wanted to say thanks for organising event. Was my first and wont be the last. I had the most amazing time and as always on any caterham events, met some great people always willing to give advice and help 😬. A special thanks to the gentleman(apologies but have embarassingly forgotten his name) who leant me some tape and the use of his torque wrench. MY 07 HOT Superlight SV
  2. Many thanks will have a look at the rear bulkhead and see if any fastnings. it just seems to be solid and wont move. Serves me right for not building this one like the last. I may have to have a winter project and take a lot apart to get the hang of the de dion version and how everything was put together. Couldnt afford new self build this time around. 3. I am sure its simple but how do you remove the standard tunnel top on a superlight SV. My previous caterham was a Classic (Vauxhall) with no handbrake gattor and it was held in place with small bolts. There appears to be nothing holding it but I dont want to damage it with 'brut force and ignorance'. Many Thanks. Rog Palmer MY 07 HOT Superlight SV
  4. Thanks Pete and Rick hadn't realised that the cold start etc etc were all linked and hadn't read the whole thread through to see what the re-map had done. My only concern is I absolutely hate the M25 trip down to CC south may go north or can it be done closer to home . I live in Huntingdon Cambridgeshire. Rog MY 07 HOT Superlight SV
  5. This is my second caterham. My old one was a Live Axle Vauxhall with carbs and was reasonably happy with its set up, tuning etc. However fuel injection, fancy ECU's, sensors up the ying yang and mapping to name but a few - HELP!!!!!! Firstly it is a Superlight SV Ford Sigma 150 bhp. This may be common but at about 4000 (3900 - 4100 ish and varying) it is very lumpy/jerky/juddery (must be a technical term for it). With 6 speed box this just happens to be about 70 mph which to drive on the boring longer hauls legally is obviously very annoying ( I know I can overcome this annoyance with some right foot pressure but I did state 'legally' ) I would be grateful of any advice from the wealth of knowledge out there in the caterham communuty. I read on another post about mapping updates but dont really quite understand too much about it. If it is something that needs specialist equipment then any good places to take it in the Cambridgeshire area would be much appreciated and a very rough guide on costs. The car has plenty of power when accelerating. It is only noticeable when it is sat there at around 4000. Many thanks. AL1 - Forgot to say as per another post I get a lot of 'poping & banging' as well on overrun. Rog Palmer MY 07 HOT Superlight SV Edited by - rogpalmer on 18 Jul 2009 21:31:26

  8. EWO Many thanks, will have a good look and see if all is the same. I am in the process of modifying the circuit to give it a variable speed control ie. a variable resistor and not the 3 fixed resistor (5,10,15 secs) combination set up. This will be seperate from the circuit board so easier to install. When I said my trade I am an aircraft techie so 'same same but different'. I have an Orange/Black SV used to have a classic live axle totally different driving experiences. Rattie thanks for keeping seat warm glad to see it was being looked after at CC. As in same area hope to catch up/blat etc sometime. MY 07 HOT Superlight SV
  9. EWO many thanks. I am installing the same one how did you identify which wire was what on the motor? Not looked at that yet as it rained heavily last night and whimped out. MY 07 HOT Superlight SV Safer to fix them than fly them
  10. Many thanks to all MY 07 HOT Superlight SV Safer to fix them than fly them
  11. Now having a de dion set up and not my old live axle I was wondering the best way to jack it up to get axle stands in place. I used to just put the jack under the diff before and was wondering if you now just put it on the A frame where it meets the diff. Many thanks. MY 07 HOT Superlight SV Safer to fix them than fly them
  12. Just briefly to start , I am a returning member used to have a Classic 'S7 RMP', now returning with superlight SV. Thought I had got over it but alas no!! I am about to fit an intermittent wipe cct from Vellerman has anyone fitted this before, are there any nasties lurking around the corner. I am fine on installation front as it is my trade, it is more on the compatibility side. Many thanks. MY 07 HOT Superlight SV Safer to fix them than fly them
