This is driving me absolutely bonkers.... XE engine fitted with a QED dry sump system. Has been running fine but is now decided to make my life a misery. Can set oil pressure on the adjustable relief valve and set it to run fine. Leave the car for a day and start it and theres hardly any pressure at all. If you then wind in the valve ,it has hardly any effect until the pressure goes through the roof and blows the seal on the filter. Then you start all over again. Gauge is a brand new spa one so am assuming its fine Initially thought to be a sticking relief valve but qed say this is highly unlikely Pulled it apart anyway and as far as i can see it is pretty much impossible for it to stick open or closed please help before i start throwing rocks at it......

Ive just installed ferodo 4003 (ithink..4000 something) Anyway, by far the best pads ive ever used. Dont last too long though

Be careful buying a six speed box for a vx, depends what your final drive ratio is as i think 6th is 1 to 1 ratio. same as 4th in a t9 ford box. Unless you rev the bolx of your engine this will seriously limit top speed. Revs are what kill the standard t9, suffers from oil starvation on the main shaft at much over 7000 rpm. I'm running a close ratio straight cut box built by competition transmission services in luton. Go for the heavy duty quaife kit.
