  2. Anyone interested in joining me next week end in a fully supported Citroen C1 race car? We have a spare seat. If so drop me a message.

Race of Remembrance 10th-12th November at Anglesey

We have a space available in a C1 at Anglesey for the Race of Remembrance. This 12-hour, 1,000km race is the last chance to compete in a C1 before our 24-hour in May 2018. It's a very special event with the race spread over Saturday and Sunday; some night racing; and the unique pause for the Remembrance Day service in the pit lane, complete with a Welsh choir.

Cost around £1,800 (actual costs will be divided between the three drivers) including support, accommodation, tyres, fuel. All you need to do is get there and feed yourself.

    £400 no offers,

  4. I would suggest the Curborough practice days to try different things out. Just rocking up and doing  few practice and timed laps isn't much track time for most of us to get dialed in.

As Richard says the mods won't knock a few seconds off. Two seconds off would put you close to the class record.

  5. I'm running 6" ZZS rears on a 310R for sprinting....mainly because I can't be bothered finding some 8 inch rears and buying more tyres.

Has anyone done any back to back comparisons of 6" vs 8" other than more subjective comparisons?

On the face of it you might expect more grip with a bigger contact patch but there's less weight on the contact patch and it's not like a 310R has lots of power.

Plus there's what happens in the wet. Lets assume it's dry for now as there  may be advantages in the wet.

Caterham use 6" for all of their motorsport series with the exception of the R300/420R cars with 180 bhp.

My gut feeling with 150 ish bhp is there;s very little in it and the lower unsprung weight may be beneficial in some areas?

I'll keep an eye on the 64ft times to see how i compare but there's other factors at play...check out the class 1 64 foot times. Someone's ability to control the start may be much more beneficial than the benefit the tyre width gives.

    Your thoughts?
