  1. I'm going, and taking K series throttle and clutch cables, 14" wheel, and a jack...
  2. Thanks to Simon, James, and Dave for organising and supporting the event. I went as a track day absolute novice and had an excellent, if exhausting day. The tuition I got was very helpful, and encouraging. If only I could retain it all. Thoroughly recommended to anyone who is on the fence about doing one of the Club's novice track days.
  3. I found that a useful alternative is a full hood bag, which goes right across the back of the car, and three dry bags (2 at 5 litre, one at 10 - on an S3), bought at low cost from places like Decathlon. This all attaches to the roll bar, and works really well.
  4. I'm thinking of getting a powerspeed system for my K series. Is anyone else thinking about a new system, so that we could arrange a group/club discount?
  5. Some questions about K series clutch replacement. Mine's done about 70k miles, and has a release bearing that is very noisy when hot. I want to replace the bearing, and do the clutch at the same time - the obvious thing to do.... but Caterham and Redline are out of stock. Does anyone know the relevant part numbers so that an alternate supply can be found, an equivalent from another manufacturer? What are the pros and cons of this? What else would you do at the same time? Thanks.
  6. Apologies for resurecting an old problem..... I'm in the process of sorting out my intermitant starting problem - all the necessary bits purchased. The instructions, gathered from a blatchat link, state that I should "Detatch the smaller wire (i.e. NOT the big red one) from the rear of the solenoid...". This is to go to terminal 86 on the new relay. The problem is that my solenoid has three terminals on it, with: i) big red wire and smaller wire, ii) thickish black wire - but smaller than thick red wire, iii) short thin wire going into the starter body; which means I have three candidate wires. Can anyone advise which wire I should move to pin 86 on the new relay? Thanks
  7. I'm looking for a standard exhaust to go onto a 1.6 k of 1999 vintage. Single pipe, with cat. If anyone has alternative workable suggestions then please let me have them. This is for a road-going car - so cat essential.
