  1. VVC power for 1.6K money - 1997 P reg 1.8 VVC, 6 speed. Clio Williams metallic blue, cycle wings. Wide track supersport suspension with adjustable spring seats and juno spring kit. 13 inch minilite rims with yokohama AO21R tyres. FIA roll bar and caterham 4 point harness (to drivers side only.) New style leather adjustable seats. Anti cavitation oil tank fitted, removable momo wheel, 7 grille full weather gear and all the usual extras. Supplied with original Caterham 1.6 K series engine (8000 miles, easy to swap back all parts there only new gaskets required) T&T. New job abroad forces reluctant sale. £14,750 ono.   3. luke, Don't listen to them all, the conversion isn't that hard if you know what you are doing. The finished conversion is excellent a nice blend of power and torque (the rover figure of 143bhp is about right but the engine is severly hampered by a small volume air box on the mgf to meet drive by noise requlations with a k&n filter and caterhams free flow catalyst exhaust you should see about 10bhp more than the mgf). I completed my conversion last june for about £1000, the same cost as a supersport conversion but i dont have to rev the b*****ks off it to get the extra power and the torque is there from 2500rpm upwards not just an extra 2flb at 6000rpm. These 200bhp cars are very well and if i had more cash i might have one but my vvc still costs only £220 to insure and it will do about 30 mpg.   5. I have a 1997 1.6K series, 6 speed with wide-track, 13†yoko 21R’s, leather seats, and all the usual extras. I have recently converted the car using a second hand low mileage 1.8 VVC engine (anti cav oil tank also fitted). My circumstances have now changed and I need to sell the car. I will be selling the old complete 8000-mile 1600cc engine with the car so the new owner can swap back to standard spec if they want. Pricing seems to me to be all over the place with people asking daft money for car so have no idea what its really worth, I don’t want to ring the factory or any dealers as I will only get the usual “it’s a bad time to sell so I can only give you “ sob story. So some sensible advice on pricing from anyone out there would be much appreciated. Also do you think it would be worth the same money if I swapped it back to the standard 1.6k (so I could sell the vvc separately.)
