  5. 7.15 this morning heading towards the A217, I was in the blue RRS waving and flashing going the other way. Nice day for it!
  6. Morning, can anyone recommend a good tyre place in or around the Sutton Surrey area to change and balance a set of 13" CR500s - a number of places I've tried in the past have struggled to get them balanced/ damaged the wheel rims. Thanks

  8. Similar problem with mine, R500, had Redline Components change and reroute the throttle cable, now sorted.
  9. I'm after some advice please. After a couple of spirited runs at Brands Hatch on Tuesday I noticed a small pool of oil under the LSD when it was parked up in the pit lane garage. On closer inspection it had also been sprayed on the underside of boot/tank. It was suggested that the diff has a breather/vent (?) and should have a pipe attached leading to catch tank. Is this correct and if so where's the best place to mount the container? If this isn't the case, any suggestions?
  10. I would like to add my thanks to Geoff and the team for organsing a great day at Oulton Park. My first time on a circuit in this car and the combination of the weather and the track certainly kept me entertained !
  11. Having never really learnt what the various buttons do that control my Stack instruments I ended up pressing quite a few to reset thye trip after filling up with petrol. Sometime later I noticed that the Aces change up lights didn't seem to be working as they should: I had the green one lit up but when I passed 5,000rpm this went out and nothing else came on! So I pressed a few more buttons and, amoungst other things, ended up altering the brightness settings of the c/up lights but still no joy when they came off the test setting.
  12. Aves thanks for the details. Mark I may well take you up on your kind offer I'm only round the corner in Banstead. Paul
  13. Mark, After reading your posting it sounds like my R500 would benefit from some Track N Road fettling - do you have a link/contact details? Also it's started to sound rather tappety when warmed up (it's done about 1800 mainly road miles). I'm taking it into Minister on Friday for a check up/service but just wondered if you had any ideas? Cheers, Paul
  14. Apologies, my last post was meant for Simon - it's been one of those days! Cheers, Paul
  15. Hi Chris, For occasional track use I'd go with: - FIA bar - safety - 4/5 point harnesses - safety - Battery master switch - safety - Removable steering wheel - helps you get out quick! - Widetrack suspension - cuts down on understeer A previous 1.6SS of mine had this spec, ran on minilites with Michelin tyres and was great fun . Current Caterham runs on 13" wheels with CR500s and it is compromised for road use due to the reduced ground clearance and stiffer suspension - it means knobly B roads are rather interesting! Hope this helps. Cheers, Paul
