  1. Cheers mate. Will do. Nick
  2. Aaaagh! Thanks Steve. Sounds like I may have to find time over the weekend to sort! Cheers Nick
  3. Sounds about the same! I've done around 1200 miles and the problem only started a few days ago - maybe a call to Caterham Midlands is in order! I've a track day next week and no time over the weekend to lift out the engine, so hopefully the CRB will hold up. I'm in Syresham - just the other side of Brackley from you. Nick
  4. Thanks Guy - any clues how long the bearing will last in squealing mode - i.e. how long have I got before the clutch stops working!

    Noisy Clutch

When slowing down after a high speed run I get a squealing noise from the clutch; it stops quite quickly and can also be stoped by depressing the pedal. I've checked for things that might be rubbing/loose and can't see anything amiss. Does anybody know if this is this likely to be the clutch release bearing and what's the remedy? Thanks Nick
  6. Myles - it's probably too late but have a look here: http://www.machinemart.co.uk/product.asp?p=040215070&r=2056&g=107 (Oil suction gun from Machine Mart) Cost about £6 and makes filling the diff and gearbox a dodddle! Cheers Nick

    raceco

I had a Raceco can and an EBD 4-2-1 manifold fitted to my 1.8 K Series last Feb. The two combined equals much better driveability (sorry, I'm not technical!!) especially in the mid range acceleration band. I've did several track days last year and the car was certainly quicker. No problems with noise tests either as I think the Raceco can is slightly quieter (this might be subjective!!) - it's definately a nicer noise than the standard Caterham silencer. Cheers Nick
  8. Thanks Charles, Looks like P clips are the way to go. Nick web site BTW. Cheers Nick
  9. And a vote for EBD - they did an excellent job for my K series Nick
  10. Hi folks, I'm fitting the standard side mirrors to an Academy car - no full side screens - but am unsure whether to work off the top or bottom pair of holes (i.e. those for fitting the hinges for side screens). The top set seem to make more sense as they appear to offer rearward vision. Any thoughts???? Thanks Nick
  11. Swopped my exhaust earlier this year - on a 1.8VVC. Dumped standard manifold and silencer for a manifold made by EBD in Tingewick (Buckingham) and a Raceco 6" silencer. Much better power delivery and no problem with static or drive by noise tests, last one being at Donnington - I think I was checked at about 96 (ish) dB? Total cost for both bits and fitting by EBD was about £800 - £850 Hope this helps Nick
  12. Thanks guys - sounds like a few more skinned knuckles and a bit more blue air is called for! Cheers Nick
  13. Does anybody know: 1. Is there an easy (!!) way of getting at the filler to check the oil level on a 5 speed gearbox without having to try and shorten a 10mm allan key? 2. Also, there is what appears to be a grease nipple on the propshaft - is it and, if so, what lube should be used? Thanks Nick
  14. Thanks guys, Sounds like GM is my best bet. Simon - do you have a phone number for them - tried a web search but no luck. Thanks Nick
  15. Does anybody know anywhere near Buckingham/Brackley/Towcester that can fit Avon CR500s?? Better still, does anybody know someone who can supply and fit locally?? Thanks Nick
