Hi Tony - the raw event results are here which will confirm class positions etc but obviously not "our" scoring / records etc.

That looks "made to measure" - very smart!

Dear all,
We haven't (yet?) had anyone volunteer to write a report from the opening Championship rounds at Anglesey, and I'd really like to include something in May's LF, particularly as entries are a little weak so far this year. As an alternative, is there someone who would be willing to have a call with me early next week so we can talk through what happened, I can take notes and build reports based on that please? I go to print at the end of next week so time is rather short unfortunately.
Thanks! Have a great time at Goodwood and look forward to catching up with everyone at Curborough.

Hi Roger - sorry to see you hanging up your helmet but it's been a long and illustrious sprint career. Seeing as you still carry the yellow trowel in your profile picture, I do hope you won't mind my posting what I think was the funniest series of pictures from Loton in '07 (something tells me you may remember the occasion!) To anyone who wasn't there, be assured that the car (and Roger) emerged completely unscathed 🙂

Be great to see you Ben👍

That's a great find Chris, many thanks 👍

Right, having entered the Championship and secured entries at Prescott, I guess I should extract my head from the sand and start looking into helmets again in earnest. Still struggling to get my head around the interplay between FIA and Snell. Has anyone else had a moment of clarity?

Just for the record, the chassis stamp on slightly later Arch chassis is also on the rear suspension mount but in a different format. This is my car (not very clear as has been repainted) but it says AM90 at the top (Arch Motors 1990) and J2 on the side for Jig 2 (they have/had 2 different chassis jigs, no doubt with slightly different tolerances, so this is to make sure the chassis goes back on the right one if it's ever back for repairs).

I have heard (indirectly but from an authoritative source) linked to the MSUK sprint and hillclimb sub-committee that is that It is unlikely there will be an extension to the SA2010, but that if your helmet is to FIA 8860-2010 as well then it continues to be valid. They are separate standard, a helmet can be both, and many apparently are.
Not sure how many people that may help?

Great to see everyone on Saturday and congratulations to all those who took home silverware!
I've uploaded a few photos of the awards being presented by Troy from series sponsor Northampton Motorsport here.

Thanks Justin!

Magnificent, thanks both!

I need some photos from Blyton and Anglesey for the LF reports if anyone has some please: lowflying@caterhamlotus7.club
I currently have a couple from Anglesey (thanks Maggie!) but none at all from Blyton. All submissions welcomed!
Michael.

I have a similar 1700 Crossflow (244 cam on twin Webers and electronic ignition). I have a (fantastic but now rather aged) Raceco silencer that the talented Mike Riley made for me which gets the static noise down to around 95/96db, so have never had any noise problems on track.

Great competition that went right to the wire. As others have said, congratulations to the winners and thanks to all who help make our Championship possible.

I've had a trawl through the Lowflying archive and drawn a blank unfortunately Rob. Can I suggest dropping a line to Roger Swift - I suspect he'd most likely to be able to provide input.

Scrutineers told me the same about avoiding SA2015 as it will have a very short life. in the past, I've always shopped for helmets at the Autosport Show where they had most manufacturers / distributors represented and sometimes good offers, but from what I heard about the show this year, companies like Demon Tweeks weren't there. All very frustrating (and expensive).

Stuart Freeman very kindly send me his paddock shots to share and I believe he will be sending some track photos too which I will add when I get them. High res versions available if you let me know.
A very enjoyable day of competition - we were definitely due a dry day after recent events!

For what it's worth, Motorsport UK's definition of safe engagement of wheel nuts is that they must be "in thread contact over a minimum length of 1.5 bolt/stud diameters".
(Guess who got pulled up on this when I was slightly borderline a few years ago...)

Looks like entries are open, but I can't get the link on the Calendar page to work. I believe it should be: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/mgcc-sw-wiscombe-hillclimb-2023-tickets-656992150207

Fantastic! Great looking car!

Funnily enough, there was quite a lot of chat in the paddock about who had been spotted "interfering" with the sheep.
A marshal even had the temerity to wave a red flag at me because he thought I might be about to
