    Spot available at Anglesey Trackday 07/08/23

    A spot has become available on our Anglesey Trackday

    Monday 7th August 2023

    Caterham and Lotus 7 Club members' Trackday in partnership with 'MGs-on-Track', driving on two different circuit layouts (morning and afternoon) and with free instruction available.

    Anglesey is a regular and very popular fixture in the Club’s Trackday programme, and we are delighted to be returning to this fabulous location and circuit during mid-summer again this year.  As is now traditional, the Club has booked the circuit on the basis that we can share track-time between ourselves and ‘MGs-on-Track’, a branch of the MG Car Club.  We have reserved exclusive use of the circuit for 40 minutes per hour for C&L7C members, with MGoT participants using the remaining 20 minutes.

    Two different circuits will be available during the day, changing over from Coastal to International layouts at lunchtime.  Our running will commence with sessions (with participants grouped and allocated to one of two 20 minute sessions) but our intention is to move to a 40 minute per hour Open Pit Lane (OPL) format – allowing track access at any time throughout our 40 minute period – no later than lunchtime. The day will be open to drivers at all levels and as a result we will be offering free-of-charge instruction.

    The fee for a car and main driver is £215; an additional driver (who must be a Club member) will cost £40 and passengers are charged at £5 each.

    This will be a great mid-summer Club Trackday – hopefully sunny and warm as it was last year!

    Cars will not be permitted onto the circuit unless fitted with an MSA-acceptable rollbar or roll cage. In practice, this normally means the use of the ‘trackday’ or ‘FIA’ rollbars as supplied by Caterham Cars. Please see our Trackday Safety Requirements and Recommendations which discusses rollbars.

    Signing on will be online and via email before the event as in recent years.

    All drivers must be members of the Caterham and Lotus Seven Club, driving Lotus 7 or Caterham cars.

    Non refundable costs were incured on 27th March 2023.

    Wile7 we finally decided on a 1999 Yamaha 600 Fazer, lovely nippy little bike. Half the character of the Suzuki but can't warrant keeping both as I am very much a fair weather rider. Now we need a bike for Dan to commute on we decided it would be a real shame to have the classic Suzuki out in all weathers. I hope to find her a good home where she will be ridden in good weather only (maybe she should go to Spain!). I think I have put her up for a fair price so lets watch this space *wavey*

    Good to hear that you are OK Chris, we missed your accident but I did see someone carrying a custard coloured wing around the paddock, I assume now that it was you!

    Hi Ian,

     

    I am so pleased to hear that you are OK, we were at the top of straight at the S bend and my heart skipped a beat as the crowd gasped in horror, the lights on the ambulance came on and people started running down the hill. It seemed like hours before you emerged from the undergrowth. We got a close up look at your poor Seven as it came to the sick bay, its seems amazing that you walked away.

    White Seven near Abergavenny

    I saw a fab white Seven bomb passed me on the old Raglan Road heading towards Abergavenny around 11am Saturday morning. Was it you? I was stood outside the King of Prussia pub, don't worry the pub wasn't open and its not a usual habit of mine! My scooter was in for an MOT at the garage next door.

    I spotted 3 in convoy which were blue, green and yellow driving up towards the leisure centre in Abergavenny on Sunday afternoon about 1.15pm. I was just horrified that you did not spot me and wave! 😬
