  1. Metallic blue with highlighter yellow 7, possibly an SV around 6.30 pm this evening
  2. Thanks TC. It's actually a vinyl wrapped ex academy roadsport. Went to look at a riviera blue one at Turn7 a couple of years ago and couldn't fit in the tillets and Callum had just got it in. Always fancied an orange 7 and it was clearly meant to be. Really enjoyed Suffolk and Norfolk and the weather a real bonus. Great drive down across the Lincolnshire Wolds from The Yorkshire Wolds. Only grim bit is section round King's Lynn with so many lorries.
  3. Guilty as charged TC. Went on to spend the latter part of the afternoon in Aldeburgh and had fish and chips. While we were in the queue I spotted an sv without doors pull up across the road. Missed who got out but reckon they might have joined the queue not far behind us. Walked along high street after eating our chips and noticed a grey with orange stripe 310s parked up and a bit further a black and ali 7. Then passed a yellow 7 as we headed west from Thorpeness. Any of them you? Loving the weather and the roads on our first visit to Suffolk
  4. On Park Road around noon, metallic grey with orange stripes. R21RWC or something similar.
  5. On Park Road around noon, metallic grey with orange stripe. R21RWC or something similar.
  6. - possibly the same 5 assorted spotted on the A66. This group were parked up on the forecourt of Drakes Renault dealership on the edge of a village called Shiptonthorpe - got the impression given the time you were possibly bound for North Sea ferries terminal in Hull.
  7. Hi I've recently sold mine, albeit a VX 1800 classic, viper blue with silver stripe. I'd researched what I thought was a sensible price to ask and worked out from that what I'd be happy to let it go for (based on the assumption that any potential buyer likes to negotiate. When i got the figures in my head I emailed Caterham, Millwood, UK Sports Cars & Woodcote with details of the car just to sound them out. I was very honest in my details so mentioned any flaws (missing poppers, I had a "need one today to get me home tyre as the spare). Without wishing to go into details 2 came back with clearly a trade price, the other 2 asked me roughly what I was looking for. As seven prices vary greatly (a local prestige marques specialist has a 94 crossflow up at £12k) I just said I'd seen the wide variation so felt it was in a price band not too far below my minimum and also not wildly above. They both came back with an offer which was as exactly what I was hoping to get. The one I sold to came up with trailer, bankers draft and I waved goodbye. Simple, smooth, no tyre kickers or canvassers and no hassle. Having now watched the website for a month it has never appeared so I'm pretty confident they had someone in mind which gave them a quick turnround. At the end of the day a quick 4 or 5 emails will cost you nothing apart from time and if it fits the bill with a potential customer they have then you never know.
  8. Thanks for the advice everyone. Got in touch with Banner who gave me 2 local stockists, one on my way home so think I'll give them a try tomorrow as they have the one I need in stock so will be hopefully able to get sorted in time for MOT next week. Busy weekend prevents going down the alternatives route at this stage. Martin Moxon Not the Cricketer
  9. Mark - battery needed to get the seven to the garage for it's MOT next Wed - where did you get your powervamp from? Hopefully will sort something so I can make the meeting as the Aygo is due at the same garage the next day for it's MOT. Martin Martin Moxon Not the Cricketer
  10. Looks like my Banner 53034 has decided to die on me. Unfortunately, an off the shelf supplier in Hull no longer stocks Banner batteries. As I don't totally trust myself buying dry from Caterham & then filling with acid (just ask swmbo about my ability to spill stuff which greatly increases when I become concious of having to be careful) any recommended/known suppliers in East/North/West/South Yorkshire or an alternative battery make of the same shape and size to fit Martin Moxon Not the Cricketer
  11. Slippers - when do you need it for as subject to dates I may be able to take it for another donation to neuk the leuk. This could be turning it into a club vignette Martin Moxon Not the Cricketer
  12. 2nd dibs please as we're heading to Italy via Switzerland. Martin Moxon Not the Cricketer
  13. Vauxhall garage aparrently no use - he gave impression they seemed baffled by terms carbs - probably thought he was after some sort of diet supplement Martin Moxon Not the Cricketer
  14. Following on from my potential MOT emissions failure ☹️, the guy at the garage has traced the likely fault to be a blown inlet manifold gasket but needs the part number to get one - he's rung Caterham stores and they can't supply a part number or the part plus he's tried a couple of independent 7 specialists. Car is 99 VX classic, 8 valve (log book says 1800, Caterham reckon it's 1600 tuned to 1800) 120bhp with twin weber DCOE 40's. Can anyone please supply a part number and if relevant details of the most likely stockist/producer. Martin Moxon Not the Cricketer
  15. In today for MOT and a couple of other bits. Fortunately mechanic is a good guy who runs an emissions test before doing MOT to find my emissions were way too high - it's not been running too great recently. He's hung on to it to try to sort it (I wouldn't be able to use it this weekend anyway) and needs the following Vx 1800, 8 valve on twin weber DCOE 40's - basic settings after strip down for mixture screws I'll have a look on the tech section on here for webers but being somewhat on the side of technical numptys might miss something so would appreciate being pointed in the right direction or just given the answer.
