  1. Hi I have check the oil with the engine running ,I don’t think it’s high  I find it’s such a job to tell. The temperature does drop when I drive through a 30 mile limit. Noticed tonight going round right hand corners up hill that oil pressure needle was flickering a lot

  3. I have oil and water temperature sharing the same gauge just flick a switch to determine which you want a reading of. 

    Lately my oil temperature has been running very high 100 to a 110 on normal road driving after about 20 miles ,my water temperature stays normal. I have replaced the sender which is fitted to the appolo tank over the weekend but just the same tonight. My engine is a k series vvc. The Cuborough sprint is coming up this weekend and I am bit worried. Does anybody have any suggestions what might have caused this to come on all of a sudden.

  4. I have  had exactly the same problem for the last two or three months, your discription is identical to what I am experiencing. I have not had it looked at yet but was thinking of starting with the A frame bush. It will be interesting to see how you get on. If I have any luck I'll let you know.

Hi, did a track day at Llandow Saturday, on the journey down water temp was normal but once on track would fall back to zero, on the way to the petrol station it reached normal but back on track after 2 or 3 laps would fall back to zero heater stayed hot and water level was good. is it likely to be temp sender or some thing I should be worried about . 1800 vvc

  7. Thanks for all the replies I have replaced the thermostat been for a spin and everything seems fine plus I did'nt strip any threads or get help to finish ,dare I try another job or quit on a high

  8. Thanks the thermostat has not been taken out, The air from the heater also seems to cool when the temp gauge falls does that give any clues could the thermostat be stuck open?
  9. my 1800k series will come up to normal temperature on water gauge while idling but once on the move it drops back gradually to zero if I pull in and let the car idle the temperature rises again the fan only cuts in after the temperature gauge goes above 85

    any ideas

Can any one help, my caterham has developed a problem starting, At Le mans when hot it would not start we would move black lead on solenoid and it would start so on Tuesday I changed solenoid, car is now worse occasionally starts first time as normal but most of the time it just clicks when turning the key if I keep turning the key it firers on the fifth or sixth click I have taken the starter to Lucas who say its fine
