  1. Has anyone had experience of cutting and shutting the sump for a zetec?

I am getting hold of an alloy 2l mondeo sump and know a local engineer who can weld alloy. What I need are some diagrams of suitable baffle positions etc as well as dimensions for the pickup. I have the later Focus engine. Any Ideas.

  2. I have a late Focus Zetec with the alluminiom sandwich plate. I have taken the sump off but need to remove the steel sump pan from the sandwich plate. They seem to be stuck together like s..t to a blanket. Anyone have any ideas? It seems to have been glued together as well as bolted.
  3. Will the flywheel from an early 1800 Zetec fit a later 2L. Is the bolt pattern the same? The 1800 is from a 95 Mondeo and the 2L a 99 Focus (alloy sump sandwich plate)
  4. I do intend fitting the spacer and would be grateful for the rest of the information. Can you explain why I can't use the 2000 flywheel? Is it possible to use my crossflow starter with a spacer? Is the QH133 the thrust bearing?

    Many thanks.

  5. I am currently looking to keep the standard flywheel and clutch on a 2l zetec and mate to an alloy rs 2000 bell housing, does any one know what thrust bearing / releasr arm to fit. I would be grateful of any fitting experiences/ problems etc.
  6. I have allways use an orbital sander with some thick cotton in place of the glasspaper. You dampen the cloth and put polish on the aluminium, this way you can polish the whole car in one hour while having a pint or two of beer. A much cheaper and safer option than an angle grinder type polisher, it also just fits between the louvres.
  7. Does anyone out there have experience of the different inlet manifolds available for throttle bodies in terms of cost, quality of fit and size from face to face. Burtons have a Zetec manifold that is 90mm face to face, has anyone fitted one of these? How far did the filters sit out of the bonnet?
