Am just running in Roadsport 1.8 self build and have tracked down various
rattles but one i cant get rid of goes away if you just touch the clutch pedal,or put your foot under the clutch pedal and raise it slightly.Have adjusted the cable as the build manual says and have no trouble at all with
selecting gears and bite position, just this damn tickling sound or resonace
( i think that is the technical term).
Do i need to add extra tension to the cable and if so at what end and how.?
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
The car will be going back to CCM for its first service when it has done 1000m
so i could wait til then and let them sort it,but they might sort my wallet as well

HAVE JUST REPLACED MY HOSES,HAD A WORD WITH CC BEFORE FITTING,YES SPARE NUT IS A LOCK NUT ON T PIECE ALSO THE COPPER
WASHER GOES ON BETWEEN T PIECE AND LOCK NUT,NOT ESSENTIAL
BUT THATS WHAT THEY DO.BELTS AND BRACES JOB.
WITH REGARD TO P CLIPS .I CUT THROUGH THE THE P CLIP AND THEN HACKSAWED THE TOP OF THE RIVET OFF, ONCE THE TOP OF THE P CLIP HAD BEING REMOVED THEN JUST TAPPED THE REMAINING BIT OF THE RIVET INTO THE DE DION TUBE. TOOK ABOUT 5 MINUTES PER CLIP
BUT LEAVES A NEAT JOB

NEW BUILD,
bled brakes for the first time yesterday ,but both sides are weeping
(as well as me) at the 3 way connector.
It may be that I have not cut the plastic pipe square so the olive is not seated correctly. If this is the case I was hoping to carry out the repair
whilst in situ.
A. do you think this is possible as Dave K at DT says to strip it all down
and refit it on the bench, which seems a bit of a bugger.
B. If I have to fit the CC version that comes ready assembled can i
hacksaw underneath the P clip and tap the end of the rivet into
the de.dion tube on the existing and then just replace, without
taking the de dion out of the car.
your answers as always are much appreciated.
Engine started first time after stopping petrol spillage from fuel

I am on a new build as well, had a similar problem but got there in the end.
Best solution i discovered from a work colleague is to buy a small ratchet
strap attach to the top and bottom wishbone tighten up and put on the nyloc takes all of 3 minutes !!!
-
am fitting halfshafts on new build,
lhs.went on easy using scissor method with metal bar and torque wrench
rhs started ok shaft end has just started protruding through nyloc nut
but is now nearly impossible to move..dont think it is cross threaded as it started easy plus everything looks flush.just very tight.
Do i carry on or wait till brakes are bled with handbreak on and use more leaverage..
Your comments as always will be most appreciated
