I think they are based up that way. I picked the engine and box up from a rolling road place in the midlands. They dropped it off there with another engine they had built. The engine has been very reliable (once I had sorted the ignition system out)
I agree with the other comments, I would have hoped it would have sold by now, but although I have had a few mails, no-one has even been to see it!

Thanks for the replies. I will respond at the weekend. At the moment I am dealing with an office move of my business, so things are hectic to say the least. I do have pictures, and can supply them to anyone interested.

If the car is misfiring more and eventually stopping as you drive it, to me that sounds indicative of a coil overheating and breaking down.

We are moving to a new office on the 25th of February and have some spare furniture
There are 8 desks with pedestals. These are oak coloured, with metal frames, and in good condition.
We also have a meeting table, seats 8, also oak coloured.
All the above FOC but must be collected from Princes Risborough in Bucks on Friday 25th Feb to the Sunday.

You can remove the scuttle as a unit without removing the rivets..
If you look inside the car at the point where the top panel of the scuttle joins the side of the car, you will find 2 bolts per side. Undo these, and lift out the small metal channels that the bolts go through. Then undo the wiper spindles. There may be some sealant to deal with, and 2 small trim panels covering the scuttle bolts inside the cockpit, but then the whole unit lifts off, giving great access to the instruments and wiring.
I may have forgotten one or two bits, but it's a lot quicker than taking out 30 rivets..
(By the way, disconnect the heated wiper wires as you lift the scuttle off.

I had the same issues. Soved by using some specially made copper gaskets (I think they may be by 7 workshop?), that cost a fortune, but do actually work.

I agree with Kenny. To me 'first dibs' means I will have it at the price stated, not that I want to p*ss the seller around, and stop anyone else buying it, until I decide it's not for me, and I post withdrawing the dibs.
There have been a few cases lately where people have withdrawn first dibs, and to me that is not acceptable.

Just in the process of dragging the 400/4 out of the shed..
In my view it does need a rebuild. The frame looks fine, and it was running when I put it away.
I will mail a picture to all who have mailed me this morning.

Probably moving house in the next couple of weeks, so have the following spare. Will obviously need to be collected)...

2 Large chests of drawers. 6 drawers, 4 big and 2 small (at the top)

Honda 400/4 motorbike, S reg, in need of restoration. Was running when put away and the engine was fine. £150. I have the V5, BUT IT DOES NEED A REBUILD...

First take the spark plugs out to remove compression as an issue.
I normally just use a spanner on the crankshaft pulley, making sure you turn the spanner in a way to tighten the bolt up, rather than loosen it.

I originally thought your problem would be the same as the one I had a couple years ago, with the misfire eventually found to be the electronic ignition unit (or the coil) breaking down as it got hot.
However, as the misfire only occurs under heavy acceleration, it would suggest to me that the issue is fuel starvation caused by the mechanical fuel pump becoming less efficient over time.
