  1. ZF Limited slip differential for sale. This is the complete unit including outer casing to accept the standard splined Caterhasm drive shafts, crown wheel and pinion and front 4 bolt flange to link with the standard Caterham propshaft. It was stripped, had the ramp angles changed to race spec and then rebuilt by Road and Race Transmissions in November 2010 which is less than 2500 road miles ago. The invoice is availabe for inspection. Being a 3.92:1 final drive rahther than the 3.64:1 ratio, it shortens the gearing of a 5 speed gearbox, making a road car more accelerative. Alternatively, if mated to a Caterham 6 speed gearbox it would be ideal for sprinting/hillclimbing and the like. Perfect condition. £825 plus cost of courier. 2. Wanted :- Caterham cloth or leather seats with headrests.
  3. Wanted :- Standard 7" dia exhaust silencer to suit VHPD Rover K series engine.
  4. Caterham Roadsport “R”. Very rare factory built car with only 16500 miles covered since new in 2000. Ordered and supplied from new with its existing and still entirely standard 190+ bhp Rover 1800 cc VHPD “Very High Performance Derivative” engine. The cars massive history file including all original factory purchase and build sheet documentation, fully stamped service books, all invoices for the extensive amount of work undertaken on the car from new, every mot, and a very high specification indeed. The engine is oil tight, water tight, retains very high oil pressure cold and/or hot. The 5 speed gearbox was rebuilt 750 miles ago by Road and Race Transmissions and matches perfectly with the lower geared 3.92:1 lsd final drive differential which was itself rebuilt by Road and Race Transmissions 750 miles ago. This engine is torquey enough to give great acceleration with the shorter diff ratio whilst still having the “overdrive” 5th gear for touring. The cars specification is very high indeed as follows :- Dodge Viper Pearlescent Blue with yellow nose band. Minimal stone chips. Rover VHPD 1800cc engine with estimated to make 190+bhp. Apollo oil/air separator tank and oil cooler sandwich plate. 5 speed gearbox (stripped and fully rebuilt by Road and Race Transmissions 750 miles ago). Fresh AP Racing clutch and brand new propshaft and driver’s side drive shaft. Shorter geared ZF 3.92:1 lsd (stripped and rebuilt by Road and Race Transmissions 750 miles ago). 13 inch dia 6 inch front Anthracite wheels with good Avon CR500 tyres. 13 inch dia 8 inch rear Anthracite wheels with good Avon CR500 tyres. Steel wheel nuts all round. Wide track front suspension. Bilstein spring platform adjustable suspension with upgraded front and rear linear springs. Uprated 9/16th inch dia adjustable rear anti roll bar and Freestyle fully adjustable front anti roll bar. Upgraded 4 piston front and rear brakes with very recent pads and DOT 5.1 silicone brake fluid. Newer style and recently rebuilt (and watertight) factory VHPD throttle bodies with ITG R500 induction filter and new air induction back plate. VHPD cat bypass 4 into 2 into 1 collector (the cat is packed separately for Mot’s). Specialist 9 inch dia track day spec exhaust (97dB at 5725 rpm). All new coolant hoses (mostly silicone). FIA track day rear roll over bar. FIA 3 inch wide race harnesses. FIA battery cut out master switch. Boot mounted plumbed in factory fire extinguisher with one cabin outlet and two engine outlets. Momo quick release steering wheel. Caterham Tillet composite seats with drivers side forward and rearward adjustability. Carbon rear wing protectors and carbon door entry sills. Oil/water overflow catch tank. JPE yellow dash gauges with dash switchable water temperature and oil temperature gauge. Remote ignition with push button start, aero switch ignition and Factory Thatcham 2 remote alarm. Aero fuel filler cap with two keys. Alloy gear lever knob. Heater and Black Pack. Secure and waterproof road tax disc holder. Fully carpeted cockpit with rear mounted map pocket and part carpeted boot. Heated front windscreen and full wet weather equipment including wipers and screen wash system side doors and mirrors and tonneau. Apart from the above mentioned engine/gearbox/differential rebuild work the following items have in my ownership been replaced with brand new components :- Engine timing belt renewed less than 1000 miles ago. Front and rear wheel bearings. The throttle bodies were stripped and fully rebuilt. Starter motor with heat shield fitted and separate fused ignition switch circuit direct to the battery so as to ensure an end to the usual Caterham “click” when starting. Thermostat housing and thermostat. Engine sensors i.e. throttle position sensor, throttle body air temperature sensor, water temperature sensor to dash gauge, water temperature sensor to ECU. Dash switches –i.e. aero ignition flick switch, indicator relay, hazard lights relay. Distributor cap and titanium spark plugs. Throttle cable. Mot until 25/10/13. Road tax until 1/5/13. The Catalytic converter, 3 litres of Caterham engine oil, 0.5 litre of gearbox oil and 0.5 litre rear differential oil all come with the car. If you take into account the cars overall condition, low mileage (with full documentation to corroborate), very high specification and extremely high level of preparation, it makes a fairly compelling argument for itself as either a road car, track car or both! (£16995). Edited by - RoadsportR on 5 Dec 2012 15:50:55
  5. Caterham Roadsport “R”. Very rare factory built car with only 16500 miles covered since new in 2000. Massive history file including all original factory purchase and build sheet documentation, fully stamped service books, all invoices for the extensive amount of work undertaken on the car from new, every mot, and a very high specification indeed. The engine was rebuilt at 10000 miles, had a timing belt change along with major service within the last 1000 miles, is oil tight, water tight, retains very high oil pressure cold and/or hot. The recently rebuilt 5 speed gearbox matches perfectly with the recently rebuilt lower geared 3.92:1 lsd final drive. This engine is torquey enough to give great acceleration whilst still having the “overdrive” 5th gear for touring. As can be seen from the specification below, the car makes a compelling argument for itself as either a road car, a track car or both! Dodge Viper Pearlescent Blue with yellow nose band. Minimal stone chips. Rover VHPD 1800cc engine with estimated to make 190+bhp. Apollo oil/air separator tank and oil cooler sandwich plate. 5 speed gearbox (stripped and fully rebuilt by Road and Race Transmissions 750 miles ago). Secure and waterproof road tax disc holder. Fully carpeted cockpit with rear mounted map pocket and part carpeted boot. Heated front windscreen and full wet weather equipment including wipers and screen wash system side doors and mirrors and tonneau. The level of specification described above is obvious. Much less immediately obvious is level of investment put into the “unseen” internal components of the car all invoices for which are on file but can be summarised as follows :- The engine was rebuilt at 10000 miles. The engine timing belts were changed at last service 1000 miles ago. The gearbox was fully stripped and rebuilt by Road and Race Transmissions 750 miles ago. Fresh AP Racing clutch. The rear differential was fully stripped and rebuilt by Road and race Transmissions 750 miles ago. Brand new rear right drive shaft Brand new front and rear wheel bearings fitted. The throttle bodies were stripped and rebuilt. Brand new starter motor with heat shield fitted and separate fused ignition switch circuit direct to the battery so as to ensure an end to the usual Caterham “click” when starting. Brand new thermostat housing and thermostat. All brand new engine sensors - brand new throttle position sensor, brand new throttle body air temperature sensor, brand new water temperature sensor to dash gauge, brand new water temperature sensor to ECU. 6. Hello Andrew. I have a brand new interchangable carbon aeroscreen and 3 x mirrors (Caterham part number WW30K). It came off my 2009 R500 Duratec so as to fit a full windscreen etc. This would cost £690 plus p+p via Caterham and I believe they are on back order. I would accept £475 plus p+p if you are interested. I can forward photos as needed. Best regards. Stephen.
  7. Ten miles north of Newcastle upon Tyne.

Recently renewed front and rear pads. Fully stamped service history book with every invoice including new purchase production sheets etc. The history file is genuinely one inch thick with every concurrent Mot and service invoices clearly ratifying the existing mileage. Road tax until 1/5/12. Mot until 25/10/12. Engine timing belts changed at last service 1000 miles ago. Gearbox stripped and fully rebuilt by Road and Race transmissions within the last 500 miles. (£600). Limited slip differential stripped and fully rebuilt by Road and Race Transmissions within the last 700 miles. Stripped and fully rebuilt throttle bodies. Brand new air filter back plate. Brand new propshaft. Brand new drivers side drive shaft. Brand new front and rear wheel bearings. Brand new 3 core triple pass coolant radiator (100 miles only). (Original radiator packaged as a spare). Brand new thermostat housing and thermostat. Brand new starter motor with heat shield fitted. Brand new dashboard switches as needed and all brand new engine sensors. They were all in full working order but we replaced them as a precaution. The removed original parts are all packaged as spares and come with the car. The parts removed and replaced with brand new items were the ignition switch, ignition aero flick switch, indicator relay, hazard lights relay, throttle position sensor, water temperature sender to dash gauge, water temperature sender to ECU, new air induction temperature sender. The original switches and sensors and senders are all packaged as spares and come with the car. Brand new distributor cap. (original packaged as a spare). All new titanium spark plugs. New throttle cable. (original packaged as a spare). I genuinely believe that the chassis is original and undamaged and any inspection will ratify this. The car is believed to have 190 bhp and certainly feels it. Very unusually it is still running on the original Rover MEMS 1.9 ECU. There is clearly scope for more power if felt needed but I can say that it is already embarrassingly close in performance to my R500 Duratec. An Emerald or similar with verniers would definitely give more power and better low speed smoothness but currently when over 3500 rpm the engine flies and we have always felt the engine had sufficient performance as is. The chassis has a superb current set up and virtually infinite adjustability. The original VHPD engine was removed and replaced new (on insurance – cracked sump) in 26/9/2006 when the car had done just over 10000 miles. All receipts and written confirmation regarding the installation are on file. The owner replaced the speedo head at the same time. We have the old speedo head which confirms the mileage at the time of removal and the car has done 5885 miles since. The chassis therefore has done less than 16000 miles and the engine has done 5885 miles. All of the above is fully documented and on file with service stamps, invoices and overlapping concurrent MOTs which all clearly corroborate the mileages involved. The engine shows 5 bar start up oil pressure and retains very high oil pressures when warm. The engine is oil tight, water tight and fast. The 5 speed gearbox is precise and sweet to use following the recent rebuild. In a Caterham 6 speed manual gearbox 6th gear is direct drive (ie 1:1) but in our 5 speed gearbox 4th gear is direct drive (ie 1:1) with 5th gear effectively being an overdrive which is a boon when road touring. Of course this high gearing could be a draw back on track but we have the shorter geared final drive (3.92:1 rather than the standard 3.62:1) which lowers the gearing on the whole gearbox and provides for great acceleration but retains a overdrive 5th gear. We have pretty much replaced everything on the car in the last year and a half so as to ensure reliability. The car runs superbly as either a road car or track day car. We did three track days last year and 5 this year including two with the Lotus Seven Club which were superb fun and proved that the car was more or less the equal of anything on track especially as we always run with windscreen and two in the car. You could speak the Club instructors who spent a fair bit of time in the car at the two Lotus seven Club days. The car body work and paintwork are in excellent condition with some stone chipping to the rear wings as you would expect. It has a fantastic fully stamped and fully documented service and MOT history. The asking price does not reflect the time energy and costs we have put into preparing the car to the current level but we have decided to move up to GT3 next year hence the reason for putting this great little car on the market. I hope we don’t regret this decision. Photographs available on request or look at the recently loaded Pistonheads advert. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3471470.htm We have a very good single axle Woodford trailer which is available for sale separately. The trailer had a full service and brake rebuild just after we bought it last year. We also have a recently Road and Race Transmissions rebuilt Caterham 6 speed manual gearbox, 2 x brand new unused sets of 13 inch (6” and 8”) Anthracite wheels and tyres one set with brand new Avon CR500 and one set with brand new Kumho Excta soft compound (bought for cold intermediate conditions) as well as a Caterham carbon quick release interchangeable aero screen with carbon mirrors (Caterham part number WW30K) which was taken from my R500D and is again brand new and unused. These items are available for sale by separate negotiation. £18850. Edited by - RoadsportR on 4 Dec 2011 21:55:18
  9. I should mention that the gearbox is still in the car and can be test driven to ensure its quality (I live in the North East of England). I have already bought a 6 speed box which we will fit over the winter. Hence the reason for sale.
