  1. Thanks for all the feedback thus far people. The pinchin johnson codes don't transfer over to modern U.S. paints (aka PPG or Dupont). I will look into the Lotus Green code you mentioned. I do know that many of the modern era BRG are in the database for lotus just not the old ones.
  2. So, the person I have painting the car wants to use PPG paints on the car. I had inquired about Dupont in the hopes we could do a quick cross referencing of the code for PPG. If I want to use PPG, does this Dupont mix help me at all? Would they have to mix it and then color match it?
  3. Hello, I am restoring a 1968 Lotus Elan S3 and am planning on painting the car in BRG. It has been very difficult to find a good "lotus" british racing green. THere are many ICI codes that don't help my local paint shop in making the paint. I really like caterham BRG but I have emailed with them and they claim that they have their own specific mix that can't be referenced to a specific manufacturer. What I need is a paint code either in PPG or Dupont that is very similar to caterham BRG or the BRG color that was used during their era of my car (1968) by Lotus. Caterham has sent me their mix that reads like this: Dupont Centari 500 GREEN AM32 315.2 AM6 383.2 AM42 414.2 AM1 423.0 AK100 1008.0 I have given this information to my paint mixing shop and they cannot make heads or tails of it. Thanks in advance for the help in my restoration! Chris Lawson White Bear Lake, MN
