  1. pP "And with my physique I would be a perfect model for a bar" I like the idea of a pP bar - the Pat and Parrot perhaps...? I'll pull up a barstool Friday and order a beer!
  2. Drove there yesterday in a Lotus Elsie as the only way of testing! The instructor was Alan Blencowe who won the BTCC - the fast lap he took me on made me feel very inadequate, believe me! Andy B was there too doing some sneaky circuit learning! Apparently it has the highest overall lap speed of any uk circuit! G
  3. 20 feet high...? Wish me luck - Thruxton tomorrow!
  4. ... and I'll be the one waving at you from the gravel! In this company, I almost shudder to to say this, but I don't think we decided yet how to distinguish the four Arkley Boys cars ( *wink*supported by Shedheads etc ) from the others on the track - coloured headlights, coloured stripes on the side (other sponsors decals can be stripped by then). I believe that pPat has ordered some 'special' stickers for the back of his machine - which is lovely, but unless they are ten feet high, not that big a contribution a help to spotters from the front. Or, pPat, do you have a cunning plan...?
  5. pP - ten years congrats - wonder what you'll be racing in ten years time, then - you and me in the Old Farts at Brands I guess... 😳
  6. I went up the London Eye too - and popped in the Royal Academy to see how many millions of quids worth of pictures Andrew Lloyd Webber normally has hanging on his walls! And had a chinese and a fair amount of beer too - I kindly offered to drive there, so Mrs GTD had to drive etc...
  7. Interesting reading the comments about contracting here - I am seriously considering doing that soon (I don't think I'm about to be pushed by my company, but upgrades to my car to get to Supergrad or Roadsport A spec are pulling me in that direction anyway!) I used to be a Personnel Manager before I got into IT - one of the reasons I made that change was that I didn't want to have to make anyone else redundant! Geoff
  8. Hi - and thanks for the welcome -I'm going to have to monitor this forum more regularly, or I'll never keep up with it! TG for the 'In the Office' style! Mine's the ali/yellow Supergrad B car for the Birkett team. Geoff Wondering why I was persuaded not to get it painted?
  9. Cheers N. The T-shirt monitor's preferred beverage is a gin and slimline! PP - did you find out anything about testing availability at Silverstone on the Friday before the Birkett? BTW have heard some of the timetable for the 16-18 Oct Brands Festival - we (Supergrads) are qualifying on the Friday and racing on the Saturday (morning I think), you Roadsports types are qualifying Saturday, racing Sunday - so we'll be there some of the same time. Not a very concentrated burst of Caterham racing though! G
  10. Hmmm - as one of the other three drivers in The Arkley Boys, having read all this stuff, I think I am going to be safer out on the track than facing this load of shed-based supporters in the paddocks! Mrs GTD (aka Angie) is the one sourcing high fashion and high quality t-shirts from a fashion house near her office in Brighton - in liaison with PP - I'll warn her what to expect! Geoff
