  9. Kenny. I have a 4inch diameter side exit silencer I don't use. It's been hanging in my garage for a few years now. I changed to a larger diameter for track days a while ago. Your welcome to it if you want to pay the P&P to get it to you. It is in good condition as it was always polished. I also converted from rear exit and cutting the larger hole in body work was quite easy. I used a couple of different size flap style sanding wheels in a drill. You can get the sanding wheels in halfords £5-6. I did this on a painted car and was fine. Very neat. Just keep moving the wheel back & forth so as not to wear a grove in the sanding wheel. As for the mounting hole, I'm sure it will be under the skin near rear arch. Gary Superlight R'66 GMS 'Flying Very Low'...
  10. Lotus Boy,your prob right about putting off the inevitable. 😔If it goes wrong again then i will decide whether to just leave it or go mechanical. I do trust that the oil pressure will be ok any way. It is always possible the oil pressure will fail but unlikely I think. I think we all over worry about it. After all it hasn't for last 2yrs, I just started to think that maybe it would be nice if it did. Don't even think about it on my work car. Gingerbread Man, was that you who picked one up from Terry at Goodwood on Sat? Superlight R'66 GMS 'Flying Very Low'...
  11. Just changed the electrical oil pressure sender. I've had my SLR for 2 yrs and the gauge has never really worked. When I first start the car it shows 4 bar but that soon changes and it just bounces around in the red area. I always thought it was just the crap sender playing up. Any way, new sender with lots of silicone around joins to help stop water getting in. Fingers crossed. May go mechanical if this don't work but I would rather keep matching gauges if I can. Wee'll see!! 😬 Gary Superlight R'66 GMS 'Flying Very Low'...
  12. Your doing a grand job for me CageyH, Many Thanks. Probably will go for the 4-2-1 collector and have a boss welded in just to be on the safe side. Powerspeed have told me they can do this for about £25. Cheers Gary Superlight R'66 GMS 'Flying Very Low'...
  13. Thanks for info guys. I had a look at your link Cagey H. Seems from that, it should not be a problem. Today I was watching Nathan (K16 TOY on Blat Chat) at a track day at Goodwood. Also their was a 7 driver who has already done this to his SLR and said every thing was running fine. Guess my question has now been answered. Many Thanks. 14. Hi. I'm thinking of replacing the cat converter on my car with a straight through pipe. I have a 2002 Superlight R with the standard MEMS electronic ECU. The Lambda sensor reads the gas flow from four pipes where they meet at the cat converter. If I replace the cat, the Lambda sensor will only read gas flow from a single exhaust pipe. My question is, will this really be ok or should I have a Lambda pick up point put into the new through pipe to continue reading from all four cylinders. I'm sure Powerspeed who make CC exhaust's can do this. Hope that all makes sense. 😬 Cheers Gary Superlight R'66 GMS 'Flying Very Low'...
