  5. Hi Grumpy the 7th, i have reposted this to help. I have had mine for a few months and have found them fine, I run them at 18psi. I have a 175 Duratec Roadsport, I don't do competitions or drive at the limit. Comfy at speed on A road and Motorway. I think the only way to find out is to try them yourself. If you search Uniroyal rain expert in tech topics other comments come up. Best wishes Roger Ashelford
  6. Thanks Nigel, Correct make but mine is a different style. When I work out how to post a picture I'll put one up.
  7. Hi A, Woolea is the make. I will take a picture and try and post! R
  8. Very good quality leather flying jacket with fleece lining. Size 42in. £150 ono. Could bring to 60th if you are interested.
  9. Hi Bone Rat, I think the common link between us is cold, wet, salt and I expect diesel. My spin was similar but I didn't hit anything! I had negotiated the roundabout and had just depressed the clutch to select third when mine let go. I hasten to add I was taking it very easily on my ZV3s. I now have Rainexpert 3 tyres but I'm going to wait until conditions improve before I venture out again, no salt and warmer weather. The Rainmaster 3 is much softer than the ZV3 so I'm expecting it to be OK for normal fast road use. I'd be interested to hear what you end up choosing.
  10. Hi MadCat82, As I see it the TWI indicates the hardness of the rubber. ZV3 = 300, Rainexpert3 = 120, so softer rubber.
  11. Thanks Bricol, I think it's Rainexpert3 for me then. The confusion came because both are advertised but I agree the 3 has taken over. Many thanks for taking the time to reply. Best wishes Rog Redlight
  12. Hi Bricol, Rainexpert3 or Rainexpert. They are different tyres! Many thanks Redlight
  13. Have you put in a new earth between the wheel sensor and the chassis cross member as suggested by Caterham on their Workshop Note? I not saying that this is the cure but my speedo failed and this was the cure.
  14. Hi, Is anybody using either Uniroyal Rainexpert 185/60R/14 or Toyo T1-R 195/55R/14 on standard 14inch Caterham rims? I would be glad to hear what you think. If you are using something else on 14inch rims and they are better than the standard ZV3's I would also be pleased to hear I don't need other advice on 13inch rims as I'm not going on that route thanks. 15. Thank you Jonathan and John, the fix seems to have worked. Just been for a 55 mile drive with the heater on and suffered no speedo problems. Heat seems to cause the problem. I did make a couple of changes to the suggested procedure, I drilled a 3.5 hole in the tube and tapped it to 4mm using a bolt to fix the new earth. I also cut the old earth wire leaving a tail on the connector block, this was then soldered to the new earth wire. Once done it was heat shrink wrapped, remember to put this on the wire first. I could not see that the old earth wire could be removed from the connector as suggested in the Workshop Note. The old earth wire was then taped back into the loom. Thank you for your help, it is good to post and get a sensible solution! Roger Ashelford
