  1. /Portals/0/images/caterhamcarsltd/caterham--designed-for-raci.png CDX Limited Edition Seven – Let The Driving Experience Never End To commemorate 15 years of the renowned Caterham Driving Experience days, Caterham have released a high-spec limited edition replica of the tyre-smoking cars at an irresistible price. Caterham’s motto of ‘Designed for racing, built for living’ has never been more apparent than with the CDX limited edition. Thrill-seeking drivers are urged to act fast as the first 20 cars will include over £2000 worth of performance extras, including a 135bhp power unit, in the standard car price. A finance option is also available on this model with a monthly payment as low as £199*. Created to mimic the highly focused abilities and looks of the actual Sevens used on CDX days, these cars boast a tuned version of the renowned K-Series powerplant, a limited-slip differential and track day roll-over bar, creating a serious tool for the track that’s equally at home on the road. Caterham Driving Experience (CDX) days have been enjoyed by thousands of drivers from all ages and abilities. Hosted at venues in the UK and across Europe, the popular days place licensed drivers behind the wheel of a legendary Seven - be it for the Slalom, Drift or Circuit courses. The thrill, capabilities and charm of a Seven can’t really be understood until you’re looking down that long bonnet between those distinctive twin lights. With experience days starting from £99, participants are taught new driving skills to help push the venerable two-seater to its limits or simply perform some tyre-smoking showboating. Whichever the course, the result is an unforgettable experience. By owning the CDX Limited Edition, the driving experience will cease to finish at the end of the day. The CDX edition chassis is fully equipped for hard track use with a limited slip differential, roll cage and sticky Avon tyres. Due to the Seven’s stripped to the essentials approach, and given an open track, the high-revving 135bhp K-Series engine feels like it delivers double this amount at the rear wheels. But the CDX isn’t just about the track. Strapped into the plush leather seats, the engine’s broad power delivery won’t intimidate and pulls cleanly through the 5-speed gearbox without the need to chase the revs. The CDX Seven won’t allow an inclement climate to kerb driving pleasure with the addition of a heated windscreen and full weather kit. This alone dramatically increases practicality and comfort. Finished in gloss black with a decal kit relating to the real CDX cars, this limited run car also includes a push button engine start, Momo leather steering wheel, battery master switch and 14” Minator alloy wheels. Considering the spec on offer, the black Seven is available in component form from an astounding £17,495 and can be owned for as little as £199 per month.* Caterham are offering a finance scheme of 9.5% APR on the limited run car, requiring a deposit of £4600 followed by 36 monthly payments and then a final balloon payment. With residuals so strong, there is no better time or way of purchasing of a Seven. For more information visit www.caterham.co.uk or call 01883 333 700 (South) or 01455 841616 (Midlands). 2. From Caterham Cars:To improve the current traffic situation in delightful Dartford, Kennet Road is temporarily becoming one-way. We are told that this will mean no more traffic lights at the end of the road, whilst they build the roundabout that will ultimately be there. The one-way system means you can no longer turn into Kennet Road, but instead go just a short distance further along Thames Road (towards London) to the roundabout and take the last exit into 'Optima Park' industrial estate. The route into Kennet Road is then clearly signposted with diversion signs. Once into Kennet Road (which will become immediately obvious compared to the lush tarmac of the new Optima estate), you are abandoned by the signage. So take the first (and only) left hand turning, which is perhaps 50m (55yds in old money) from the start of the road. Follow the road around to the right and bingo, the Caterham factory is just along the road on the right hand side.
  3. 15 years ago Club Chairman Lo Pilfold created the role of Club Fund Coordinator - then told me to get on with it! I don’t think any of us ever dreamed it would carry on for this long or that it would capture the imagination of members in the way that it has. You have all raised an unbelievable amount of money over the years; over £280K and still climbing which is an enviable record by anyone’s standards, and still the interest, kindness, generosity and support from club members continues at every level across the UK and from members overseas too. Of all the jobs in the club it’s probably the best one to have. Cheques fall on the mat almost on a daily basis and although every now and again a cloud goes over the sun and a very sad reason for the donation puts it all into perspective, the vast majority come with interesting letters or notes offering explanations of what, when, how and why, some funny, some very detailed, some sparse and some cryptic but all full of generosity so it is a job where one is constantly exposed to the very best side of people - and it really is time for me to stop being so selfish and pass the role on to someone else! I can’t say any more than I have already said many times over the years to express my thanks to you all so please take it as read as I’m sure you will, you are a great bunch and I’ve loved every minute and if you can give the same support and goodwill to the new Club Fund Coordinator, Rachael Sangha, then she will very soon see it as the most enjoyable job in the club as well! Many of you already know Rachael as the AO for the Cambridge area and well experienced at getting in the thick of club life she is too, with plenty of enthusiasm, energy and intelligence so I recommend her to you wholeheartedly. Some say she is also better looking but I’m not sure about that! :o) Rachael has agreed to take over the role from the 1st December 2006 so please send all cheques and NtL stuff to her from then onwards – see contacts below. Enough of my wittering, onward and upward as they say, cheers all:
