  1. Mark, My car is a early 1990's HPC, Vx XE engine with Injection throttle bodies, not sure about power, probably somewhere between 180bhp and 200bhp. 5 speed gearbox (not sequential)..semi-helical by SPC, with Quaiffe LSD. Tyres are Bridgestone Re720 (but also have a set of Yokohama A32's should these be required for the class). Hope this is enough information. Thanks Gram
  2. Thanks guys....application form filled out and posted. Now where can I find the Club regulations for 2008.....how do I find the right class for my car ? ....Tyres ? .....any special restrictions ? Gram
  3. Graham I depends on a number of factors:- 1. The Span of the RSJ ? 2. Are there any other loads likely to find their way onto the RSJ ? 3. Will the top flange of the RSJ be restrained laterally by timber joists etc ? Gram #
  4. After 10years of 7 ownership, its about time I had a go at a few competitive events. The Lotus Seven Club Speed Championship sounds like a good place to start, so I downloaded the MSA application form, but Arrghhhh...so many questions....foremost, what licence category should I apply for ? Is it Race National B or is there a special licence for sprinting ? Do I need to take a training course ? Confused...You bet I am Gram,
  5. Cost me about £430 for my old diff (de dion) to be re-built as a LSD by Quaiffe i(ATB unit)...also replace all seals and bearings etc.... It took them almost a month to do it though, but i guess they have many bigger and more important customers than me. It works wonders and does exactly what it is mean to do - efficiently and reliably all day long...so i am pleased with it. Totally changed the characteristics of my car...probably the best investment i have ever made to my car in terms if £/(performance improvement) terms. Go for it amnd i would certainly go for a Quaiffe ATB unit again. Graham
  6. Please can you email a photo, showing its general condition. Does it have rear seats ? What part of thwe country are you located in ? Graham
  7. I have a standard Caterham Steering wheel and steering column gathering dust in my garage if it is any use for you ?
  8. I find Mobil 1 Motorsport works fine.... it is a little stiffer and seems better suited for the Vx
  9. Yes.........The time has come finally come.....for an engine re-build. I have postponed the inevitable for 5 years now, I must be the sole remaining owner of a standard injection VXi XE. **** I now need more power **** I AM LOOKING FOR RECOMMENDATIONS FOR UK BASED ENGINE BUILDERS. I am looking for an engine builder who can supply the complete engine package , including Engine probably circa 240bhp+ and dry sump, Throttle Bodies, ECU & wiring harness, ready to drop straight into the car. PLEASE -- i would like your views :-) Who would you recommend ? Regards Graham
