Life has moved on for me so reluctantly time to let someone else have full enjoyment of my fab SV. I tried to sell last year but then enjoyment took over again... Time to try again before summer kicks in.

I have owned this car since 2013 (3 former owners) gradually upgrading the car with custom built exhaust, LSD, DVA verniers, ECU remapping etc. It has been maintained annually by Northampton Motorsport and I have all receipts plus a file of previous history. I have a raft of extras with the car – cover, regular and long-nosed shower caps, petty strut, spare clutch & throttle cables etc. Advertised for £20,500 but open to sensible offers. BJ Clubman 185 trailer suitable for SV. It is twin-axel, braked with covered deck, ramps, tie-down rings, winch, storage box, full decking, low level wheel rack (holds 6 wheels), rear stands, spare wheel, and lockable hitch. It had new heavy duty tyres in 2018 with relatively light-use since (see photos) –  only a few trips since March 2020!. It is well maintained, fully working and a very solid and stable trailer that tows well. It has been stored under covers over winters. Offers around £1250. Photos

SOLD Sparco race boots & overshoes - Blue Sparco Slalom RB 3.1 race boots, size 9 (Euro 43). Full suede uppers giving comfortable fit, FIA approved. Excellent condition still with original box & packing. Purchased March 2020 but only worn for a few events since. Some grass stains around toes. SOLD - Hans II FHR - Entry-level Hans III FHR 20 degree, size medium with sliding anchor straps, plus bag. Good condition - purchased 2018 and has had light use. No accidents/impacts. FIA approved and has blue MSA sticker. £150 ono. Photos here

Bell Sport 5 Helmet & case - Medium Sport 5 helmet with clear visor and FHR posts fitted. Comes with Demon Tweeks helmet bag, soft sac and cleaning materials. Purchased 2014 and always worn with balaclava - generally good condition, no accidents/impact but a few paint chips on top (see photo). FIA approved and has blue MSA sticker attached. £160 ono. Aeroscreen - Single perspex aeroscreen for drivers side; fits SV. Attaches via two rubber rivnuts into holes drilled into scuttle under windscreen fitting so not visible– very easy to fit/remove (5 mins). £40 ono. Photos here

Head restraint - Head restraint for roll bar/cage, generally used with Tillett seats. Comes with original (flimsy!) bracket plus custom made (solid) bracket used with U-bolt. Has pad attached. £20 ono. Photos here

SOLD Tillett Race Seat - Caterham Tillet race seat in grp with adjustable runners – will fit S3 or SV. Good condition – light scratching to seat area and underside. Seat only weight is 4.30kg (Caterham website); original label still attached. £290 ono. Photos here

SOLD CXR 13” wheels - Four Compomotive CXR Alloy motorsport wheels with used Avon ZZS tyres: Two CXR – 1371 7 * 13 (ET15) with 185*55*13 tyres and two CXR 1381 8 * 13 (ET20) with 215*55*13 tyres. Good overall condition but the two 1381 (rear) have some light scoring on inner surface from the Dedion ears (see photos). £400 ono. Photos here

Dan - I will take a look but it would involve dismantling the buckle to 'free' the locked in crotch strap. If Chris' suggestion does not work I might take the plunge on the dismantling..

In refitting my original leather seat to replace the Tillet used for sprinting, my (relatively new) TRS 6 point harness no longer works .

Does anyone have a surplus 4 point harness gathering dust or interested in swapping a current 4 point harness for a 6 point?

The TRS harness has 2" upper shoulder straps for use with HANS, 3" elsewhere. See photos

Very happy for you to read/copy the map in my 1.8 K - it was remapped by Troy last year but there were limited changes. Car currently off the road in the garage and happy for you to pop over anytime if interested.

Charlotte and I have decided to hang up our race suits and pursue some new adventures. It was a really tough decision given all the fantastic people in the L7 speed community although made easier when we saw the entry list for Clas 3 this year . We wish you all the very best for the year, hoping you all have a speedy, competitive but safe time.

We have a heap of kit that might be of interest to new/existing sprinters including Tillet seat c/w runners, 13" Compomotive wheels (6 & 8), Driver's side aeroscreen, timing strut, Tillet head restraint, Brian James Trailer for SV, Bell Helmet, Hans device, 2 suits etc. We may also be looking to sell the car in due course (2003 Roadsport SV, 1.8 K-series, 24k miles with lots of bits). I will get around to putting them all formally on BC in due course but if anyone is interested in any of the stuff, drop me a line on Jon [at] johnston-davies.net or text/WhatsApp 07473 145798, or PM

Having spent some weekends decorating rather than blatting, I had to move my collection of Low Flying going back to late 2013 and I have grudgingly decided they are not 'allowed' back to their home on the bedside table. So anyone interested before I find them a new home in the recycling bin. I might hang on to them and see if any local dentist/doctor's waiting room might have them if such a thing exists in the future.

Hope everyone is keeping as safe as possible.

Can anyone offer some advice on matching paint colour to get some touch-up paint? I need to touch up some 'marks' on the front wing after some 'over-enthusiasm' in a couple of sprints last year.

CC offer some 'standard' colours including 'blue', but I wondered if there was an easy(ish) way of geting something vaguely similar to my 'blue'. I am not too precious on the match but something close would be nice to at least hide some of the 'evidence' from last year.

We can only echo the words of others on the value and dedication Chris (and family) brought to the club and championship. At a personal level we are deeply saddened to see Chris leave. He gave us so much support and encouragement over the past years and has been a big factor in us keeping going - taking the time to have a few quiet words made such a difference.
