Hi Tom, I was told I could either send it away to Emerald for the update or do it myself. Whilst I'm no IT expert, the instructions were pretty easy to follow. Do you want me to forward you the necessary?

I've recently upgraded to an Emerald and was suffering the same problem when cold starting, I was informed that a firmware upgrade should sort it - and it did!

Another for the Shortie's from Starcom. Although they come with multiple inserts I had some spare inserts from my Shure earphones which fit very well (I think you can buy these kits from Shure separately). Have now used them on several long distance stints and find that they give a good level of noise isolation as well, maintain their position (this was mine main concern before buying) and are also comfortable. Only negative is that they're a bit of a fiddle to fit but I figure that as I only use them for longer journeys I don't mind spending a few more moments getting ready.

Sadly I've mucked up my work dates and I'm off to Chicago tomorrow morning so won't be able to make the breakfast blat - I was really looking forward to it too! I was also hoping to catch up with you to talk engine parts ;-)
