Great sorted! It was the fuse - it hadn't blown but had come free from the fuse box and was hanging out! must be all that lateral G! thanks every one - the weekend is back on!

Can anyone help? here's the problem... Just been out for a run, got home and found excuse to go out agian (as you do) hop in started engine, started to strap myself in - engine cuts out won't start again ☹️ Seem to be getting a click from the electronic engine management box , but no click or turning of the starter or solonoid - checked the connections to these and they seem to be sound. The car is a pretty standard 1800 k series Roadsport. Any Ideas?
