  1. Skipper 555, thank you. I'll pm you this evening. Little busy at the moment. David
  2. If it helps I've looked at the cost of 2-day shipping, mainland U.K. which would be £6. Happy to ship now I know this. So total cost £46 shipped. David
  3. New Sealey TP69 6.5L pump. Duplicated order. Bought one of these for use in changing oils in my car. Worked very well as per Blatchat threads on the subject. Subsequently sent another one which supplier does not want back. It's no use to me so offering it for sale. Still in original packaging. Would prefer collection from near Nottingham, Radcliffe on Trent area. £40 cash on collection
  4. Wanted advert as suggested. I'm keen to obtain a couple of the clip-on Banner battery covers. Please let me know if you have any available and price. Many thanks David
  5. Ditto a need for these. I emailed Banner over a week ago asking if they could supply. So far no response. Will post here if I hear back. David
  6. Michael, thank you for that. Regards
  7. Could I add a plea for a calender please? Surely if it was shown previously it must be publishable?
  8. That's very good of you. I think that must be on Facebook and I hadn't thought of looking there as I don't use it. I'll follow it up. Many thanks David
  9. I'm looking for a suitable Class 3 car for next year's Sprint and Hillclimb Championship. Would prefer Sigma engined and Mazda gearbox spec e.g. 270R, 310R or similar. Mechanical work if needed would not be a problem. Does not have to be concours! Let me know by PM or call 07899997845 Many thanks David
  10. I've received the Final Instructions for this event. Is there a specific 'Blyton Park Declaration Form' in addition to the Club's? The instructions infer there are two forms. The Club's form to be sent to the office beforehand and the other form to brought on the day. Incidentally why does the Club need their form to be sent beforehand whereas the same form for the Sprint event on the 16th may be brought to the event? The latter arrangement is simpler and easier. Posting here as thought the question was worthy of wider dissemination rather than simply to Simon. Regards David
  11. Well, a lesson in not jumping to conclusions. Refitted the switch as advised and it works fine. My thanks to all. Jonathan, I have a wiring diagram but thank you for the offer. David
  12. I have a problem with the brake lights on my 420 staying on, lighting up as soon as the ignition is on without any pedal pressure. The car has standard rear lights and a 'Just Add Lightness' high level brake light. Just passed an MoT and all the lights have worked satisfactorily for over 1500 miles. I thought the problem would likely lie with the brake light switch but oddly this is working but in the reverse sense i.e. when pressed the lights extinguish. I changed the switch for a new metal one from Car Builders, as recommended on this forum for other brake problems, with the same result. Swapping the connections over on the switch does not make a difference. There is clearance between the switch and the plate attached to the pedal, it does not make a difference if the switch is loose from the pedal box. The brake light circuit is very simple and I cannot think of a reason why the switches would work in the reverse sense. Car electrics are not a strong point of mine, am I missing something obvious? David
  13. Also many thanks to Bob and Carol, those pictures confirms the mounting. Currently installing the system correctly and looking forward to easier passage over speed-humps! Best wishes David
  14. Benton, thank you very much for the images. They answer all my queries and confirm what I thought. Currently refitting the system as it should be, surprised it stayed on the way it was installed. Very many thanks David
  15. Since buying my 420R late last year I've always thought the trackday exhaust fitted across the rear is lower than examples shown in photos. I had a chance to look at other examples at the Donington weekend all of which were mounted higher and closer to the chassis than mine. These were all fitted with the rubber mounts on top of the chassis brackets so the mount is in compression. My car has the mounts fitted below the brackets so the exhaust hangs from these and thus is lower. Simple fix I thought, just put the mounts on top of the brackets. However the standard mounts (the 'U' shaped items with a hole for the hnager) do not fit comfortably above the brackets on the chassis. Also the hanger on the pipe from the side silencer has a curve in it where it attaches to the pipe and would not fit the rubber mount if the mount was on top of the chassis bracket. I'm wondering if this hanger should be straight? Could anyone with a trackday exhaust advise how theirs is fitted please? Images of the mount to the chassis each side at the rear would be very helpful. Many thanks in anticipation. David
  16. Thanks to everyone for their responses. I didn't want to run the risk of any resemblance to the lovely Nora so retained the strip. My query was prompted by the 2015 build manual, there's no mention that I can see of the boot cover at all in the latest manual. David
  17. Good Evening I'm refitting the boot cover to a 2019 420R and am unsure whether the aluminium strip in the cover should be removed for cars with six point harnesses and a FIA/trackday rollbar. Could anyone advise from their own experience please? Many thanks David
  18. Thanks to everyone for their help, much appreciated. The point about being careful on replacement is a good one as the existing bolts had been damaged by incorrect installation, Managed to save the captive threads in the hub though. Chris at Redline has come up trumps. Thanks again David
  19. Good Afternoon I need to replace the 1/2" diameter lower rear damper bolts on my 2019 420R. I've spent hours looking for the exact correct spec of these on the internet without success. Either the overall length is not available, or the grip length or thread length. Even tried aircraft spares suppliers. Could anyone suggest a supplier for these and the Schnorr washers please? Many thanks David
  20. Not sure if this the correct Forum as I'm new to Caterham ownership. Apologies if it isn't. I recently purchased a 420R in 'Gulf' colours. It needs some remedial paintwork, primarily the bonnet which was replaced as the previous owner damaged it whilst it was off the car. Unfortunately the new bonnet's paintwork shows obvious colour differences to the existing body colour. It also does not fit very well. I'm looking for recommendations for bodyshops in the Midlands who have experience of working on Caterhams. I'm near Nottingham but I'm willing to travel to get the work done very well, any recommendations would be very welcome. Many thanks David
