  1. It actually does/did have ballast resistors fitted. The units have water ingress and the wiring poor, on top of the wiring being corroded. I'm in the process of rewiring it.
  2. After a clamber upside down at the back of a unit I've managed to have a better look - it turns out it's not just LED bulbs but sealed LED units, which appear faulty. Time to get whole new units.
  3. I am hoping someone would be able to help with a list of incandescent bulbs for a Brian James Minno please? My trailer is fitted with LEDs and they aren't playing nicely with factory fitted towbar electrics. Unfortunately the trailer is currently blocked in a small distance away so I can't go and look. Ideally I want to buy a full bulb set, get the trailer out, get them swapped, and be able to use it again!
  4. Pretty sure I have a PS2, some controllers, some games. If you are near enough to collect from Brentwood let me know and I'll check it's all there.
  5. Hi Dom I wouldn't consider spending half that on a nose cone for racing, it would be a real waste.
  6. I've found various inconclusive threads and other bits of info online. Can someone confirm the exact differences please?
  7. Looking for a spare nose cone for a race car. Damaged cones considered as long as repairable. Ideally would collect Essexish.
  8. Sold and buyer had all the other bits with the car too.
  9. Thanks for the link, I've nothing of value to add as everything I have thought is well covered.
  10. Other car clubs I have been a member of offer a digital subscription (at a slightly lower cost) and a digital magazine is sent out. I have to confess to rarely opening the magazine, bar the calendar. Is this a future option? Does it already exist and I've missed it?
  11. Deposit taken, sold pending collection.
  12. Located in South Essex near Brentwood.
  13. Thanks Dan. I'm being told over on Caterham Marketplace on FB the car is very underpriced and should be £32k, both by public and private messages. For the record I priced this car at what I felt was right for a quick painless sale but didn't think it was massively under - the rarity of R300Ds will always make it hard to price and I've not followed the market closely enough to see these apparent big upward values I've been messaged about. The price was dropped from £29k to £27k when I committed to buying a Sigmax race car as I want to avoid any storage issues. I'm going to review the position post 22nd when I collect the new car and get a feel for how long I can 'borrow' my family member's garage for the race car - at that point the car might be readvertise at whatever market price I can ascertain, in an ideal world I may be able to keep it, or it might go to a dealer to sell.
  14. Updated photos and info
  15. I bought this beautiful R300 from Sevens & Classics whilst waiting for my Lotus Emira - the idea was to run the Caterham for 12-18 months until the car arrived then sell on. A test drive last in 2022 however confirmed I didn't get on with the Emira at all so my order was cancelled. This cancellation, some personal matters, and some encouragement from various owners has led to the decision to go racing (also in a Caterham!), and I simply don't have the space to keep the R300. I tried a K-series R300, a 420, a 310 and looked at a large number of cars but this was the right configuration and nicest of them all. When buying Andy at Sevens & Classics talked through the history of the car - built in April 2010 R300 for someone who, at the time, worked as the Caterham archivist. He said they have a long history of owning Caterhams and other sports cars. The car itself is pearl white with orange stripes, generally clean bar usual stone chips. Outline spec is as follows: 175bhp Duratec, 6 speed gearbox, LSD I think a shade under 4.5k miles currently, weather dependent car may still be used before sale so this may increase Standard side exit exhaust with cat still in place 'track day' rollover bar Kevlar seats with harnesses Heater, heated screen and doors Included in the asking price is the following Zipped split tonneau cover Soft Bits For Se7ens half hood in matching colours - this car is the one shown on their website https://www.softbitsshop.co.uk/the-half-hood-classic---includes-storage-bag-820-p.asp
  16. Car found, thread can be closed. R300 now available but will advertise separately.
  17. To conclude this thread, forgot to update it and as advertising the car I'm assuming any prospective owner will be curious as to outcomes. Coolant system was flushed 3 times with deionised water. A new 82 degree race stat was fitted (short nose version). New hose was fitted between the stat, T piece and header. Refilled with fresh Comma Xtreme OAT coolant. Temp sender terminal cleaned and wiring route moved. System pressure tested and no leaks - all good for another 5 years.
  18. Still looking, much less fussed about it being covered now.
  19. I've put another wanted advert up for a trailer as a stepping stone towards the above, but would still consider a suitable Sigmax or 150 package, especially if part-ex was wanted.
  20. After a trailer that will fit in my garage, hence size requirements. Would prefer a covered trailer, kick down stands and slide out ramps but will consider most. Overall needs to be less than 5.15m, ideally a little less. Bed needs to be at least 3.4m x 1.7m, ideally a touch wider. I'd prefer to have a trailer without high sides.
  21. I would consider a K-series, please send me a link and/or details. I forgot to mention any car would need to be road registered and ideally with kit to be road legal - my son's one demand is to still be taken out and he's a long way off being able to drive or passenger on track!
  22. I've not seen that advert, looks like it might have been deleted? Thanks for the heads up however as adverts seem to be spread over many places and that's 2 more places to look!
