  1. Does anybody have a Sigma engine wiring diagram for a car where the ECU has two multiway plugs with a connector that looks like this: All of the diagrams I have seen are for cars with a single multiway plug. Car in question is a 2019 Academy model. Also, does anybody know the make and model of the ECU fitted to these cars? It is marked 30L192F. This is a link to the ecu on the Caterham parts website. Here
  2. Do you torque your wheel nuts greased or dry? I used to apply a smear of copper grease but then I was told this could lead to over-tightening.
  3. Has anybody used a real time tyre temperature monitoring and logging system such as the Racelogic? If so, was it useful?
  4. I'd be interested in knowing who did the design work on the IRS Have you received the August edition of Lowflying? There is a four page article that more or less answers this question. According to the article it was done by a bloke called Dominic who works for Porsche but I have a feeling this irritating video illustrates the process.
  5. Later I started to think about what an insurance company might have to say about driving on the road with pads that need to be taken to a quiet stretch of road for a heavy braking session before they worked. It is worth noting that the current Mintex advice for 1144 pads for road use does not require a "heavy braking session". To optimise the braking performance of your new M1144 performance road brake pads you must allow for a ‘bedding in’ process as the new brake pad friction material has to condition its self with the brake discs on your vehicle. Generally in normal driving conditions the M1144 pads will require approximately 200 miles to become fully conditioned. During this period we recommend that you avoid hard or aggressive braking. Note: Excessive brake during the bedding period can cause the friction material to overheat resulting in glazing of the pad face and effect the overall braking performance. If your vehicle is not used on public highways then please see our Racing bedding procedure.
  6. I ignored steps 4 and 5, passed a new transponder close to the ignition barrel as in step 6 and then after a few seconds switched the ignition off. The new transponder subsequently worked ok.
  7. There's a lot of fake Mintex pads around. Maybe you got some of those. This was my first thought. Mintex 1144 should be an excellent choice for road use and trackdays on a Caterham. Where did you purchase the pads? Caterham supply them as an option for Academy cars, which are all road registered.
  8. The washer solution looks like a bodge. I don't see how it can be any better than a shim.
