  3. I have read many a thread on this topic and my conclusion after listening to all the valid reasons is that I shall be removing mine at the next oil change. Thanks for all the feedback. This is such a great forum.
  4. Thanks Jonathon, looks like they have them.
  5. Can anyone identify these plug connectors? The sub loom is out of stock at Caterham so I will make my own. Thanks Julian
  6. Simon, I have a bag fuel tank out of a K Series S3, currently on eBay. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/126337830340?itmmeta=01HQ6QDFDD3C1SCJ1BHHH8RBJP&hash=item1d6a524dc4:g:6KUAAOSw1rNlto3C&itmprp=enc%3AAQAIAAAAwO0oO0%2Fj0WjhtRPQmfNPMWWDjxP9UxzODpSRCOLxsvPwmB3CfYVmS84eQSuE7KFDpM2DlzNk1rIwpCw%2BCb2wGooF0yyBrbF1TeFEzw7XvRIl4ZtkLfWDuacUYbR702%2FZZk9zaupDoe39Z%2BQuzzeGHV1IHU4DBSZL8fTWGB%2FmY2%2BpuvwtM1l28a0%2FEQuQ75DMLk%2FqlRP9PdpRuJS43TYqhHJYUFYYX468zhMhr7qh7pgyNBkyWrBAGiBjfuICq0JPgQ%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR-L2tde5Yw Julian

  9. Hi, I am after the correct positioning for the rear poppers for an imperial S3 car fitted with hood sticks. I have a new hood and the current poppers do line up horizontally or vertically from the car to the hood. Thanks Julian
  10. Wanted fuel gauge for a 2005 era S3 Caterham. I am after a black one with indicator needle pointing up and “Caterham” written across the bottom. This was the standard fitment gauge for many years. Thanks Julian
  11. Hi, I don’t seem to be getting any Notifications. When I open the notification list it does not show any apart from the one welcoming us to the new web site. I have checked the notification settings and have ticked all the boxes for notifications list but still no notifications for posts I have replied to when others reply.
  12. It was £1400 from Caterham and about 2k to have made. Also the logistics of them having to have the car and I knew exactly how the Caterham one would look and would meet the requirements for any engine tuning.
  13. Jason, I was in the same situation as you re exhaust. I spent a year looking for a second hand 4-2-1 but none came up. I looked at getting a new system made but was expensive. In the end bought bought an SLR system from Caterham. It took about 6 months and a lot of pesting as they were out of stock and had to get a batch made but finally arrived last Christmas. Worth contacting them. Julian
  14. Sounds like a good spec, will be a nice car for the next owner. Love the wheel choice 👌 Julian
  15. Wanted 7 anniversary nose badge 1957 to 2007. As fitted to 2007 cars onwards. Thanks Julian
  16. Wanted lowered floor passenger side (RHD) for S3 Imperial car. Car is 2005 ex academy. Floor from 2001 onwards is the correct fit. Thanks Julian
  17. I carpeted mine after driving it a year without. Tunnel, bulkhead and boot. It has tidied up the look of the car as the aluminium was not painted. It has also got rid of background noise and rattles. It made a significant reduction in heat from the tunnel which is good in the summer but missed in the winter!
  18. When I bought mine, 2005 S3 K Series, it had a clunk coming on and off power from the diff. At first I was told they all do that but mechanically I knew it was not correct. When Road and Race Transmission opened the diff you could see the shaft holding the planetary gears had elongated the hole in the planetary gear carrier. The carrier was replaced and solved the issue. Diff still whines on a light throttle though.
  19. Wanted 50th Anniversary badge in good condition. Happy to purchase or swop for brand new unused black Caterham badge. Thanks Julian
  20. Hi, I am after a fuel gauge for a 2005 S3. They have black face and rim with white needle and letters, with "Caterham" written below the needle. Picture of oil temp gauge to show design. Thanks Julian
  21. Hi, I am looking to change the bag fuel tank in my car back to a standard tank. Firstly so I can fill the tank without spraying fuel over the luggage! And secondly so I can have fuel gauge. I can get hold of a tank but understand that the fuel pump including the mounting bracket is no longer available. Does any know the original part number for the complete assembly?I believe it was from a Rover Metro but may be wrong. Thanks for your help. Julian
  22. Set of Caterham 8 spoke wheels 8x13 and 6x13 Have been stripped, sprayed and lacquered. Fitted with new Toyo Proxy R888r which have some road use, still with manufacturing vent spews. Includes new centre caps and badges. Collection only near Brands Hatch Kent. £900
  23. Update - The inlet manifold gasket was the culprit. Once changed for new and run up the smoke cleared from the exhaust after 5 min, just had to burn off the coolant in the bottom of the silencer. Run up to temperature and all good. Now ready for the season. Thanks to everybody for the advice. It was the K Series article that led me to the cause and stopped me from taking the head off. Thanks Julian.
  24. I have just removed the inlet manifold and the o ring gasket is discoloured and flat on cyl 4. Also on the inlet of the head on no. 4 the port is very clean where the other ports have a slight green tinge. There was also some signs of coolant inside the manifold on no.4. I am going to change this gasket first and run the car up again before attacking the head gasket. I will let you know the outcome, thanks for your advice.
