  1. Ok thanks all...Look forward to seeing some of you there.. Ed
  2. Ok I've booked onto the inter/expert session..Looking forward to it.. Next question is, do you where a race suit..? I still have all my race gear and it would seem sensible to wear a race suit on the basis its comfortable, fire proof and puncture proof etc..However I'm conscious that in many videos I see people tonking around tracks in normal clothes.. The race suit seems a better option but I should imagine you could get a few looks from others in civvies thinking you're a wannabe Stig.., ( and I'm conscious that in a new car on a new track I won't be breaking any records ). Any thoughts welcome.. Ed
  3. Thanks all. I shall get booked in ...Looking forward to some smooth tarmac.. Ed
  4. Hi. I'm looking to book onto the Croft track day in August. This will be my first ever track day however I've done a lot of Hillclimbing and Sprinting in the past in a fairly quick single seater andcwascpretty competitive in class.. My question therefore is whether I should book onto the novice or intermediate/expert session? I'm reasonably confident that my basic track driving skills are ok but I'm conscious my experience has been on an empty track and not surrounded by other cars.. Of the two different sessions the expert option gives more track time at 40 mins each hour whereas the novice is 20 min sessions so the former offers better value..However I can imagine 20 mins every hour could be enough for me and the car anyway..? Any advice on best option to choose would be appreciated.. Cheers, Ed

  8. Yes I've tried just resting them in the holes and they are too tight/interference fit in some instances suggesting variation in paint on the centres or chrome on the nuts..? I dont want to force them as will likely see paint flake off in a bigger way.. I wasn't aware RD did a non chrome nut..Cant see it on their site. The only stainless ones I can find are mini fitment, ( for mamba/revolutions etc ), but wrong size..?
  9. Hi. I recently purchased a set of fully rebuilt MB wheels, ( R500, Mag 8 type rebuilt at MB ) They are magnesium centres with sleeve nuts which appear to be problemtic. It appears others have experienced issues with getting chrome sleeve nuts to fit. It seems the paint on the centres could vary in thickness or the chrome on the nuts? I dont want to get the nut sleeves turned down as that would leave the sleeves to corrode which I believe could be an issue if in contact with the centres? So the other option is to lightly sand the powder coated holes in the centres to aid the nut fitment + add a bit of grease to help get the nuts through the centres.. Can anyone advise their experiences of this and whether theres any issue with lightly sanding the holes? Thanks, Ed

  11. Blackmamba - I bought a Freestyle car - No.6.. of x8.. The Freestyle story was featured in the Feb 2016 edition of LF, ( nice article by Stephen Deuchar that also owns one ). I have the pdf article but would like a hard copy of the magazine as it would be nice to add to the cars history file.. Cheers, Ed

    R400 wanted

Hi. Looking to buy an R400. Would poss consider an SLR or R500 also. Max budget is circa £25k ish for the right car. Car will be used on road predominantly but with some occasional track use therefore spec needs to reflect this. Would prefer a v.clean original car but WHY? Please get in touch if you have something suitable. Thanks, Ed
