  1. All receipts for new parts circa 1992. However date of registration is 26/6/79 on V5. I am not to sure how this came about, but it certainly makes the MOT a breeze as they do not even check the emissions

  6. The hose was cut at 45 deg and was able to blow through the hose from the catch tank end without difficulty. Is it possible for the hose to collapse at high revs ? It only appears to happen when the car has been given a bit of stick.
  7. A question for Roger King or other crossflow experts. My crossflow has stopped sending oil to the catch tank from the crankcase breather. The engine bay is now covered in oil, looking like it has come from the oil-filler breather. What is causing this ? I have cheched that there in no blockage in the pipe to the catch tank and that the filter is clean.
  8. My engine has started to push oil back through the oil filler instead of into the catch tank. Is this likely to be a major problem or is it a blockage somewhere. ?
  9. The stainless stone guards on my car are allmost matt with the with the amount of stone peppering they have had. Is it possible to reverse them and fit them on opposite sides exposing a hopefully shiny side. ?
  10. I have replaced the battery and am on at least the 4 th starter motor but cant seem to get the engine to turn over a at decent speed. It has the symtoms of a flat battery, but jumping has little or no effect. I have also tried to wire it directly to the battery, again with no change. (1800 x/flow) What could be the cause / solution ?
  11. I have a similar problem, sometimes the engine turns over very slowly sometimes at a decent speed, occasionally the solenoid just clicks. I have checked all earths, replaced the battery and have had at least 4 starter motors all to no avail. My starter is the centrifugal type with separate solenoid...........There is just nothing worse than a car that you cant rely on to start.!

    Heated screen

My heated screen does not appear to work, fuse is OK and warning light comes on. Where is the problem likely to be ? Cheers.

    chassis paint

Can anyone recommend a paint for touching up paint chips on the chassis and suspension. I seem to recall that some type of hammerite was a good match. Cheers Brendan
  14. Oliver, Thanks for the reply, but I dont understand why I would have to change both. Changing the motor to suite the ring gear would be be the simplest option if it was possible ? Brendan
  15. I,ve had continuing problems with starter motors since buying my 1800 xflow 2 years ago, having replaced it at least 4 times with Lucas reconditioned units. They seem to jam regularly and eventually pack up alltogether. Is it possible that I have a mismatch with the ring-gear and the motor gear. I have the 3 bolt inertia type at the moment. Is it possible to change to a pre-engaged stater. If so how big a job would it be ? Thanks in advance Brendan
