  1. I was wondering how effective these were when used on the 485 as in the picture as i have an SV with RBTB so no filter sticking through the bonnet.  Do you think it would provide much air as an intake with how the air flows down the side of the body

  2. Hi Alan. I have an Sv but dont think the silencers are different but maybe the collector pipe might be.
i purchased the polished 7 inch silencer re.380X0006A

i just looked at a couple of side picks of standard cars with the normal cats and the pipes a pretty similar length. I did notice when fitting it does not sit over the collector pipe quite as far as the old silencer but enough all the same.
well worth changing over Sounds so much better.
Only thing for me is i lime the look with the rear silencer.

  3. Hi i have recently brought a 420r and gone over my original budget a far bit and was struggling to decide. Already though i am so glad i did as i am pretty sure with the 360 i would have just wanted more. Having said that go for the 360 its easy to upgrade to more power but hink probably more costly in the long run especially when you add the dry sum too. You cetainly wont need much more than the 420 can give.

  4. Well just removed track day exhaust frrom the 420 and put a side exit on and what a difference. Much better noise, nice flames and if say it feels quicker or certainly freer reving. Just the length of the trackday exhaust must cause some restriction

  5. I currently have the trackday exhaust on a 420r with RBTB and it sounds ok and does keep the overall sound down but for me its a little disappointing in noise when your out for a blast. I have a standard silencer arriving tommorow to swap over so will see how that goes or if it will be to loud and annoying. Be also interesting if it restrict power.

  6. Strangely mine seems to have no preload when doing the wheel test. Plus its pretty clunky however coming off islands and slow tight bends it steps out quite progressively with nice control. Making me think that it is doing something when loaded up.

  7. Hi all, having just read all these posts and picking my car (420r) up from Silverstone Caterham in the wet  after its mot and noticing wheel spin from only the one wheel I have done the wheel turn test and described above and on turning one wheel the second is stationary and sounds like I have the same problem as many here. Question if I continue to use the car until I get it back to the dealer am I causing more damage and expense or is it just working as an open diff. If they dealer won't sort it is the diff easy enough to remove and I will look of change to the spc diff.

    Great topic and hugely helpful
