  1. Hi, yes I've got a clear one at the moment - I want to have both to be honest to give it a go
  2. I'm looking for a Caterham aeroscreen in carbon for S3 chassis. Some minor wear is OK. Thanks.

    New 420

Caterham have an ECU modification to cure this - ask your local dealer Mine was the same originally, I cured some of it with a bit of tuning of the TPS etc during build but Caterham Williams actually said that Caterham are pushing out an ECU mod that adjusts the mapping until the engine is warm - Since I had this done on the car it fires up and holds idle as solid as a rock everytime.
  4. Thanks aerobod - I must have misread something somewhere. I confirmed my setup is as you described - the OP is updated.
  5. I've seen a couple of guides about making a manual cooling fan override switch and I thought I'd throw this idea out there which relates to all Duratec cars I believe How I understand the system works (UPDATED): The 'submarine' mounted temperature sender feeds the dashboard gauge, there is a separate sensor that sends a reading to the ECU. The ECU then controls the fan circuit when the temperature reading is above the switch point (correct?) Instead of creating a whole new circuit that directly controls the fan power would it be feasible to simply fit a switch that disconnects the ECU wire from the temperature sender? This would send a 'max' value to the ECU and it would then start the cooling fan? (UPDATE - I just plugged in Easimap and pulled the plug off the sender and the coolant temperature reading went to 110 degC so I am guessing this would permanently operate the fan until reconnected). As far as I can see - fitting a switch that simulates unplugging the sender would work without any issues, please feel free to point out if I have any (more) of this wrong, it is something I may look at doing as a precaution in case the sender fails on a blat. Thanks, O.
  6. Hi, Hopefully an easy one... I've googled this but haven't got a conclusive answer yet. 2020 420R (Duratec) - Does anyone know the thread for the oil pressure sender please? Thanks in advance. O.
  7. Hi guys - I'm part way through my kit build and read about the flexible rear brake hose being well worth doing for ~£50 as a kit from Caterham. The very short original flexible brake hose has to be sheathed in rubber according to the manual, Am I right in presuming that the two additional flexible hoses in the kit would also need to be the same to pass an IVA test? Thanks, O.

    PPF on kit Order

Thanks guys, great info there - especially the seeping adhesive and discolouration on black stripes (which I'm getting). I'll get them shipped separately and work out the PPF and decals post build. Thanks all.

    PPF on kit Order

Hi, yes PPF is paint protection film, sorry. I know it'll get damaged paint but I was hoping to limit it with some film. I thought it was common but am I mistaken and most people don't bother? I am getting bonnet stripes and side decals (Caterham logo).
  10. Hi all, Just joined and on the verge of ordering my first kit and could do with a little help please. I have read a bit of conflicting information regarding decals and PPF relating to which goes on top ect. The Caterham dealer has said they can get a local firm to put PPF over the top but I've read there can be issues with air gaps around the decals ect... Any real world experience and advice welcome. Thanks.
