  1. Hi Paul, thanks a lot for the pictures. Are helping much. Have now an option to buy one and hope it will fit.
  2. @Schnitzel: Perfect, than I take it. Will call you. And you are right. The motor of the Seven heater system fits. Unfortunately, in the version that I have from my S3, blades are made out of plastics. So still need some made out of Aluminum. Nicks proposal for a motor from a heater system was quite near to real installation. Could not believe that this should really be used that time.
  3. Thanks, good idea. Will try to get some information also from there.
  4. Nick, thanks for doing this all for me. Looking at the dimensions I am sure that this would fit to my car, too. The brackets can be adapted to 75 and 90. Only need to find out where the motor is coming from. The motor from ebay seems not to fit. I think that at least power will not be enough. And also it has no holding frame. But this could be solved with some additional work. Hope that somebody is reading this who has an information about the source. You asked for the engine: not decided yet. Have both available: Kent Crossflow and TC. Will be at least a Series 2.5.
  5. Hi Paul, yes indeed, will do it like you supposed. Will use a second modern one on the backside. Thanks for your help and waiting for any further input. Will also look to find something from Ford 105E.
  6. Hi Nick The picture I took out of a book. It is not my one. Can you please measure the distance of the bolts? And look whether any signs are on the motor. Also now I understand why it not very effective. Looks not very powerful. Here a picture of my chassis.
  7. Hi Nick, that's perfect. Would be awesome, if your friend can help. I see that you are practical oriented. I myself believe that right pitch of holes and bolts is important for a good look at all. Maybe I am to much a perfectionist as old school German mechanical engineer. But there is also the possibility, that the brackets are not fixed at the right position. By the way: regarding motor I already asked Chris from Redline. There is no version available that fits.
  8. Hi Nick thanks for your reply. You are right, the radiator is quite useless. I have the same idea to combine it with a modern version from radiator back side. But also want to keep the look as original as possible. Today I drive a 1989 Caterham with a similar fan motor and blade. (seems to be from an early Ford Fiesta). Also has 3 bolts but the pitch is different. The distance of the bolts is much bigger in the 1989 version. Here a sketch with some dimensions. Sorry, could not load it in the right rotation, It should be rotated by 90 degrees. Dimensions are in mm ;-) That's the reason why I am asking. Maybe the brackets can be bended to the right distance. But this will look quite distorted and is only the third best solution for me. (The second best solution is removing the brackets and using only a modern fan on the back side of the radiator). So if anybody has a Series 2 to available with this kind of cooling fan and can help me with a part-number imprinted on the motor, that would be great.
  9. Thanks Jonathan. It is a later version. Can find it on a S2 part list shown in Tony Weale's Lotus Seven book. The brackets are directly welded to the frame. Parts no. 68 and 69
  10. Searching for the original one that was used. Mounted from the front. From which car it was taken? Can anybody help me? The picture does not show the original one ;-) Thanks Greetings from Germany
