Have you tried Burton @
www.burtonpower.com
If not try calling Neil at MK Sports Cars. If he cant help he may know someone who can. Probably easiest to send enquiry on their website

I've now filled in the form on "uberniche" twice and haven't heard back.
Does anyone have a direct contact as I would prefer the Big Knob, over an extension.

Good Luck with your purchase. I went to GP but got a better car privately through Blatchat. Amazingly the chassis numbers were only 50 apart.
Whilst I didn't buy from GP, I felt that they were genuinely inteterested in the outcome. If I ever change, they will be on my list to visit.
I also looked at Sevens & Classics at Brands Hatch

If it is club members making stuff for club member's, I think it should be OK whether they make a profit or not.

Hi Jon
I've sent a WhatsApp with the info

I have a 1997 car and mine just push out. I do not disconnect until they are out as its much easier that way.
-
I saw one on th eBangers & Cash web site a day or so ago. No idea of how many gears though.

For cutting cable ties I have a pair of "End Cutting Pliers" Mine are 150mm and the smallest I can find, so far, on the net are 200mm. Toolsation have them but at 200mm long.

I've had mine years which came in a set and, I now have no idea where I got them.

If anyone is interested I have magazines from the January 2021 issue up to October 2022.
If anyone wants them they are available to collect from CM11.
If you want them sent, I will investigate cost.

Is this up and running now

Thanks all for the info guys.
I now need to find a higher ratio diff. I think I read in the build manual, or somewhere similar, that they do 3 different ratios, being
4.125
3.99
3.77
Or there abouts

I have a 1997 1.6 X-flow with thermostat fitted and don't get overhating issues
-
Thanks Jonathan. No picture though, but I assume just drill through the part that moves, when it opens/closes part of the stat.

Hi Guys
Thanks for the info. I have now checked and get 16 turns of the wheel to 33 turns of the prop.
I make that 1.03.
It was originally a race care so I wouldn't be surprised to have a lower ratio diff. But 1.03 doesn't sound right to me. I did look up some blurb donkeys ago and thought the lowest Ital diff was 3.77.
The question is, have I made a schoolboy error? Or is it correct. As a matter of interest I can easily accelerate from 35mph in 5th gear. Another reason I thought I hade a low ration diff.
Any thoughts, or polite abuse if I have made a stupid error, would be appreciated.

I have read at various times about drilling a hole in the thermostat to aid filling.
My only question is what size? I assume no more than 2mm, but would like advise.
This would certainly help me as my cross-flow only takes about 4.5litres on initial fill and many top ups therefter to get to the stated capacity.

I have a 1997 S3 and would like a spare wheel carrier for it, if anyone has one they no longer want.
-
Hi Steve
Can I have the Timing light and Synchrometer please.
If you could PM me, we ca take it from their.
I live in Billericay.
-
Can I check the diff ratio without removing the diff.
I assume I can when in the air by counting wheel turns against prop turns, but all I have found is how to do it with the diff removed.
I'm interested as the speedo against Google maps suggests the speedo is about 10% out.

I wouldn't have thought it is an issue as long as you washed it off with car wash fluid in the normal car wash way.
