The warranty contact is on annual leave for the next week for so, so I will not hear back from Caterham in a while.
As I was wanting to take advantage of the nice weather, is there a quickish way to push the trigger wheel back in place or is it a case of stripping the rear hub components off?
I don't have torque wrench that goes up to 270Nm for the hub nut, so if possible would like to avoid removing that nut.
My car has only done 1800 miles and I've not done a track day

My bad on the wrong part naming
I've spoken to Caterham as it is still under warranty and will wait and see what comes back.
Chris - Has your issue occurred on your latest build?

Thank you Jonathan, I'll have a play with the gap

Wondering if someone is able to help me with the issue I am having with the speedo on my 310R.
When the speedo reaches about 70mph it starts to stutter then as I increase the speed the speedo just gives up and drops to zero, once I lower my speed to below 70mph the speedo springs back to life.
When I build the car in 2020 I installed the speed sensor with the earth modification wire to the rear ARB mounting bolt.
Not sure if it's the actual speedo causing the problem or the sensor, I've had a look at the sensor tonight and all looks fine and I'm getting the light beam switch on and off when I rotate the wheel.
Any ideas what it could be?
Thanks
David

Yeah that is a solution, I was just wondering what most sigma engine owners do
-
Planning on doing my first oil and filter change and I have a quick question regarding the sigma engine, as the sump drain plug is on the side of the sump (not underneath), is it better to use an oil extraction pump to get all the oil out or will most of the oil drain out just from the plug being removed?

Hi,
I've some brand new unused carbon wing protectors and fastener pack as well if you are still interested.
Thanks

I think I have got it, the install is very simple then. Just need to slide the strap between the rear panel and roll cage mounting bracket and the plastic lugs lock into place when tension is applied.
I knew it had to be simple.
Thank you for your help I'll give it a go tomorrow.

I think lockdown, homeschooling and lack of pub life has finally scrambled my head.
I purchased a Thundersport half hood recently and I'm struggling to install the rear tension straps.
Am I correct in assuming that the strap should be looped around the internal roll bar bolt sleeve?
If so is there a trick to loop it around? As I am struggling or am I just simply overlooking the obvious.
I've had a look at Caterham 7 Diaries blog but I can't tell from the photo.
Thanks in advance

What tyre pressure do folks tend to set when storing the car?
I was thinking of putting the car on mobile axle stands and then removing the wheels to take the strain off the suspension.

Pair of brand new rear wings in the colour gravity black.
No holes or cut-outs other than the ones Caterham have undertaken prior to delivery.
Would prefer collection, I'm based near Edinburgh
Also, have the option to collect the wings along the M6/M1 corridor to Bedfordshire this Saturday as I'm able to get them ferried down southwards that day if that helps.
£200 for the pair

Large pair of mole grips & force are your friends here to get the handbrake grip off

It wasn't present before, I think it's more like polish, I will have a look around the radiator just to be sure.
Haven't come across any Tate & Lyle lorries in my travels yet

It was painted over a year ago, polishing compound does seem to a logical reason. I have applied a coating of a carnauba wax so may it is some left wax

I started the engine again today.
I cleaned the starter motor prior and within starting the car and then getting out and having a look around, oil was starting to build up under the starter unit, I ran my hand up the side of the starter motor and no oil present and having a look as best I can with an inspection light I can't see or feel the oil coming from anywhere else.I'm going to leave it for CC to sorted out.
Have a good Christmas everyone

I have had another look today and it is engine oil.
The breather hoses on the engine where pre-installed and I've connected up the catch can and looking in that area i can't see any leakage around the hoses, but its all pretty tight in that area of the engine bay.
As the Sigma engines are pre-filled with oil, I just checked the level, and it's up to the max so I've not added any additional oil.
I did get a reply back from Caterham this morning, saying they would address it at the PBC, shame if they have to undo all the work I've done.
I may fire her up again to see if I can spot anything
I'm based just south of Edinburgh

Evening,
I reached a milestone this weekend with my build and successfully started the engine.
When I was running the engine on tick over I noticed a pool of fluid under the car, first thought was that is was leakage from a loose coolant clip but on closer inspection, it was not.
I traced the area of the leak to be coming from the starter motor, my worst fear is that it's the rear crankshaft seal
Has anyone had any experience of this kind of issue with a build or are you able to recommend any obvious checks I can look into?
I've emailed Caterham about it to see what they say.

Speedo - Trigger Wheel
in TechTalk
Posted
I managed to move the trigger wheel back yesterday using cycle tyre levers, it's not perfect but it's an improvement, I'll test over the weekend and I'm still going to try and get a replacement from Caterham.
Thanks for everyone helps
