  1. Sorry, I've been away in France! A connection came loose which was causing my starter motor to stop working, and whilst finding that, I found a connector had come loose (one under the bonnet next to the inertia switch). My dipped beam is now working! Thank you for all your tips Rupert
  2. Hi, yes sorry John, that is what I meant. Model is a 2002 1.8k Supersport.
  3. So the main beam on my lights stopped working yesterday. They work when on full beam, but with the switch set to main beam, then only the sidelights work. I'm using classic car led H4 headlights. Any help much appreciated as I leave to France on Monday..
  4. Looking for an S3 Aeroscreen.
  5. Checking if anyone has one's they want to part with before I buy some new ones. I also have a spare set of standard ones if anyone wants to swap. Rupert
  6. Used Toyo r888r from my clio 182 Trophy. Replaced these with Michelin PS3's due to wanting a better all round tyre. Fronts still have 3mm, and rears 4mm (even wear with no blistering). Would be good for a couple of trackdays. £50
  7. These came with my clio 182 Trophy, as the previous chap used them for wet weather/wintery conditions. He only put them on once, and claimed to have used them for 300 miles. The wheels are unmarked, and the tyres have loads of tread left. The Tyres are Hankook Kinergy Eco 195/55/r15 (from 2013). Each wheel+tyre has a wheel carrier/cover. Collection preferred £180
  8. Thanks for the comprehensive response Stephen. Sounds like, for my needs, I should stick with the ZZS's.
  9. My car is currently shod with avon ZZS's, 6" front and 8" rear. The rears are on their last couple mm's so will be changing them soon. I've really enjoyed the tyres so far; great traction in the dry, great breakaway, really nice feedback and decent in the wet. I see that many are using toyo r888r's, and was wondering if anyone has experience of both they wish to share with me? I'm interested in any comparisons in sidewall stiffness, weight, feedback, breakaway, wet weather performance, and overall grip. I'll be choosing according to which tyre is better with regard to those criteria. My car is primarily a road car which is used occasionally on track, hence I'm looking for something of the same ilk as the ZZS. Cheers Rupert
  10. My Seven lives outside, and I bought a Hamilton cover after doing a good bit of research. I bought one as it seemed to keep popping up on various forums as one of the best covers for those whose pride and joy lives outside. It's 5 layers (if I recall correctly) and semi-fitted - this means that it's not a super tight fit, which can be slightly concerning at first as it seems a bit baggy, and not the super tailored fit of an indoor cover. I have read that this is in important design feature so the car can breathe, which makes sense. It does dissipate moisture very well, as I've found the car and cover to dry out surprisingly quickly after heavy downpours (I've never taken the cover off to find a wet or damp car). I'm pleased with mine so far, but I've only had it about 2 months so can't give any long term insights. It does appear to be pretty robust, so I don't have any doubts about it lasting a good while. Hope that helps! Rupert
  11. I'm interested, but I'm based in central London, so a bit far from Nottingham. What could we sort out? Cheers Rupert
  12. Alright, good to know. This was just my thinking, but my knowledge is very limited. No, definitely no adjustable platforms, and yes the car is slightly high at the rear, and low at the front. Will give one of these guys a call
  13. Thank you all for your responses. Regarding the above questions; -I'm running 13" superlight wheels, 6" fronts and 8" rears. Profile wise i believe they are 55 (185 fronts and 215 rears). I run 18psi all round. -Unfortunately, the car does not have adjustable platforms. If i'm not mistaken, if I fitted adjustable platforms, and fitted some sturdier springs, i could get the car set up quite nicely. I'm based in London.
  14. To cut to the chase, I've recently purchased a 7, a 2002 1.8 k series roadsport with circa 160hp. Having now done 6000 miles since collecting it at the beginning of August, it's becoming obvious the car needs a full geometry setup. Currently, the car's suspension setup is bog standard roadsport, the only modification being a freestyle adjustable arb (set at its intermediate setting). The car handles great, but I'd like it to be a little more taught (perhaps something more akin to R-spec). If I had 1.5k to spend I'd have already ordered a set of nitrons. Unfortunately, I need to be more frugal, so what should I upgrade prior to getting its geometry sorted?
  15. Indeed! That wouldve been mine. Was on a wee trip up north for my mother’s 60th.
  16. I've just purchased my first 7, and will be embarking on a 2 week roadtrip down the west coast of France with my lady (Calais -> La Baule -> Cap Ferret -> Montpelier). Will be heading along the south coast from there (Montpelier -> Nice/Villefrance/St Tropez), and then back up the Route Napolean to Grenoble, then on to Belgium. We'll be staying with friends/air bnbs along the way. As I'm new to all of this, I'd appreciate any advice concerning: -Packing (Accessories, technique etc) -Routes for my itinerary, or any stop offs you recommend -Mechanical advice (I already have a spare clutch&throttle cable) -GPS apps (I use Waze, but perhaps there is one better suited for twisty routes..) Any other advice would be great!
