    Battery Tray

Many thanks for the responses. After a good look around I decide to put an allan key in and see if it would come out. After a bit of a nervous start - success !!! All four came out without problem and I've now cleaned and re-installed the tray. Your responses (Paul & Jonathan) are very much appreciated. Cheers Richard

    Battery Tray

Hi all, I've got a 2017 Roadsport with the battery mounted in the centre of engine bay, in front of the heater fan housing. I seem to have some damage to the battery tray (looks like a small battery acid leakage) and I'd like to take it out to clean up and repair/replace. Does anyone know if the allan bolts holding the tray down go into capture nuts under the housing, or do I need to somehow get underneath with a spanner ? If the latter, how on earth do you get into the space underneath ? Many thanks for any advice. Richard
  3. Quick update - the inertia seatbelts have been taken (thanks Paul) but all the other bits and pieces are still available. Cheers, Richard
  4. Hi there, I've got a few items cluttering up the garage I'd like to dispose of - and if possible make a few quid for a charity (British Heart Foundation).... So if anyone is interested I've got the following : A standard Caterham (non FIA) rollover bar from a 2017 Roadsport model, set of cams for a Sigma 1.6 engine (they did about 500 miles before I had the engine upgraded), a standard Sigma flywheel and finally... a set of inertia seatbelts. If you're interested make me an offer (remember it's all for charity) and it's collection only from North Hampshire (Nr Andover).
  5. Hi there, I was wondering if anyone has a single (or pair) 15" x 6.5 ten spoke wheel that they'd like to sell to a good home. I've managed to source the four required to stand the car on (thanks Alan and Garth), so now looking for one to replace the spare. Not worried if it's a bit scratched etc.. Alternatively, if there's anyone else out there looking for a single or pair we could always join forces and pick up four between us
  6. Hi there, I was wondering if anyone has set of good condition 15" wheels they'd like to sell on to a good caring home. My car is a 2017 Roadsport with standard brakes and (I think ) Ford hubs. I need a total of 5 (so I have a marching spare) but 4 for now would be just fine, as I'm sure I can pick up another some time.
  7. Hi there, Many, many thanks for the advice and and help. Having checked all the connections I took Jonathan's advice and had another look at the battery (it is a Banner one that came with the car) with a multimeter. Even though the CTEK battery charger was saying it was 'fully charged' the voltage across the terminals was only 4v - so no where enough to turn the engine over. Tried jumping again from another car with the engine running for 20 minutes and, sure enough, she started. Off tomorrow to buy a new battery. So final question...... any recommendations for a replacement battery (preferably a heavy duty one) ? So again, thanks to you all for the helpful advice, and to Jonathan for taking the trouble to send be wiring diagrams etc. Cheers Richard
  8. Can anyone offer any advice please. My 2017 Roadsport (Sigma engine) started perfectly a couple of weeks ago, as it has since I bought it. Went out yesterday and the engine will only just turn over a couple of times (very slowly) then stops. Battery is fully charged, and I've tried jumping from another working car battery. Checked all of the starter motor and battery terminals which seem fine. The only other thing I've noticed is that when the ignition is turned on the speedo needle is jumping at three second intervals..... Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
