  1. After tightening the loose bolt the car is so much quieter particularly when coming off the throttle. It was obviously causing vibration through the chassis. Something to keep an eye on
  2. Hi guys I had a look under the car and it looks as if one of the diff mounting bolts is working loose. Not much but the little paint marker don’t line up so I’m assuming it’s working loose. Anyone know the tool size and torque number? Thanks
  3. £63 for a dipstick hhmmm. It would be nice not to have to take off the nosecone off each time.
  4. Hi thanks guys for the info/advice. Yes the car is within warranty so I will get it booked in hopefully they can get it done ASAP.
  5. Thanks for the replies. On checking under the bonnet this morning there was some leaked fluid from the cap. So checked the level virtually full. Just a small amount leaked. Cleaned it up and on tightening the cap it didn’t really tighten just went loose again so put a couple of layers of tape around it then refitted the cap and it created a better seal. Was fine for the trackday but on the journey home it went limp again so I’m going to have another go at getting a tight seal on the cap. Hoping that’s all it is. What is it with Caterham using crappy fluid caps that don’t work??
  6. Hi guys, I have a newish 420R. On my way down to Silverstone tonight for tomorrows club trackday I go to push the clutch pedal and it’s halfway down before I touch it. A few pumps it comes back but not for long. I’ve had this issue last year then a mechanic at bookatrack bled the clutch fluid and it seemed better now it’s happened again. I’m at Silverstone tomorrow so it’s short notice to get it sorted. I’ll check the fluid level in the morning though last time it happened the level was full. Anyone else have this issue? thanks in advance Jason
  7. Car is on 15” wheels with Avon zzs.
  8. I’ve booked it in at BookaTrack on March 27th for corner weighting. So I can enjoy the afternoon watching the BTCC cars on track at donnington as it’s their official season launch and pre season test during the afternoon. It was great last year and free. Having just measured the car to ground. Front of rear wing ground to chassis and rear of front wing ground to chassis is 165mm on all four corners so no rake at all? The dampers are bilstein and the springs are eibach. The dampers have adjustable double collars and there is around 30 mm of thread bellow the lowest collar. Tazio, I’m aware there are many companies that can set up my car. I chose BookaTrack because it’s most convenient for me and I have got to know some of the guys there over the last couple of years. They have a large fleet of track Caterhams and look after customer race cars and trackday cars so I,m confident they know their stuff.
  9. Hi I’m near Matlock, Derbyshire. So I think I’ll get in touch with BookaTrack and have a discussion with them.
  10. I will also check the rake. Interested to see what the factory set it to.
  11. Thanks Jonathon I will try to get some photos during the week.
  12. Hi Jonathon, it was the BookaTrack photographer who pointed out it was higher than normal at the front when at Donnington. Having looked at the pics it’s clear it’s higher than others at the front. It has a dry sump so where is the correct place front and rear to measure for rake? Also it has a double collar I seem to think eibach springs. Standard 420R suspension not the race ones. I don’t have the car with me to get pics at the moment then I probably wouldn’t know how to upload them. J
  13. Hi guys, I’ve noticed from trackday pics the front looks a bit high. I have a factory built 420R and everything is as it was from factory. I know I should get it set up properly. In the mean time I’d like to drop the front a bit for track days then raise it back for clearance on the road. Oh and correct tool for the collars? Any advice appreciated. Jason
  14. Thanks Mark I've ordered a pack of ten. I'll put a dab of loctite on the thread.
  15. Thanks I had a good look around it the other day as I was doing an oil/ filter change. Nothing untoward though only on 850 miles so early days.
