  1. I'm removing the exhaust from my 1994 K series for some welding. I'll be replacing the bobbins and giving everything a polish. Any advice, pitfalls or things to be aware of?

    Thanks

    Paul

  2. Turned the ignition on, all lights and gauges working but when I pressed the start button... nothing. No noise from injectors. Turned off the ignition, turned on the ignition... starts and runs perfectly.

Car is currently on CTEX MX-5 and started once a week.

    1994 Supersport 1.4 K-series.

    Any ideas?

  3. The boot cover on my 1994 S3, standard roll bar is showing its age.

I've looked at Oxted Thundersports web site and they supply the boot cover and a tool/fittings.

    1. Is it an easy job?

    2. How do I work around the harnesses bolts?

    3. What, if any, pitfalls do I need to avoid?

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks

  4. Drive it.

I use my 7 as often as I can. It's used all year round unless it's icy, raining/snowing, salt/grit on the road.

I understand this is impossible if you're in the USA or Canada but in the wilds of Surrey/Sussex - no problems.

Thermal vest, T shirt, winter coat, hat and gloves, no roof or doors.

  5. Car is 1994 Supersport S3.

The last few weeks I've been getting a rattling noise from under the car around the transmission tunnel. I've identified the culprit as a lose speedo cable.

I've fitted a cable tie to the cable where it exits the dashboard/scuttle and added another cable tie underneath the car.

The rattle is less than it was but still evident - any other ideas?

    Thanks

    Paul

  6. Thanks all, Clay bar ordered and AutoGlym products restocked in the garage. As for attacking my car with anything more harsh  than a high quality micro fibre cloth - that's never going to happen. Elbow grease is plenty for me and my car.

PS It's no showroom princess - the car gets used, a lot.

    Thanks again

    Paul

  7. I'm looking to refresh the paintwork on my 1994 Supersport. It's BMW Estoril blue metallic, it doesn't need a respray or wrapping, just some extra TLC.

Can anybody direct me to any kits, brands, material etc.

    Thanks
