  1. Gavin has emailed me to ask that question . Last year we had some messing about because the garages had to be in the name of a competitor at Anglesey, I won't do Anglesey ,its too far. so are you happy for me to put you down as the "owner" of the garages again so that I can book 2 ? And are you are able to collect names again of those taking the garages and would you be happy to collect monies (evenly divided by those that attend 1 or both days of the weekend if the same as last year) and then do a single transfer to me, or shall we do the same as last year and collect via LoveAdmin ? in the meantime i'll get back to Gavin Andy
  2. the championship is now open on LoveAdmin. If anyone has signed up already and wasn't offered extra T-shirts, i'll email you separately to arrange.
  3. if i try to get Harewood or Prescott elevated on both days to championship event, is that going to help with getting the required rounds in ? btw all events will be on the nominated list of events.
  4. Ref 2 events in a weekend, that's quite ossible with the Hill climbs. For the sprints Anglesey and Blighton already are, so that only leaves the Curborough events , as Goodwood and Aintree are single day events. The reason for 12 events is low numbers in 2023 and 'not enough competition' (a complaint from the paddock) as a result. If making a weekend of it has the chance to fix both and is what is wanted , then I can do that but don't think the ratio of hill climbs :sprints should drop any further (currently 8:4). Happy to hear and still able to adjust as the permit application is just about ready but not yet sent.
  5. yes Loton is July, my typo sorry guys.
  6. The list of invited and Championship days is as follows (pdf attached below), all have been confirmed by the organisers. Plus, quick update on proposed changes going into the regs : 1. Prescott will replace Wiscombe on the list of nominated events, 2. The need for insurance,, per MSUK rules, is being removed for road going classes but Road Tax and MOT remain; in the hope it reduces costs for some. 7. Hi all , happy new year. For our Curborough Sprint events (May 7th and August August 27 for this year ) we're looking for a volunteer to act as back up/ supporting Secretary of the Meeting. This is a role we should fill to ensure the smooth running of the sprints, however all the prep work is undertaken by the competition secretary and the club admin team, so barring any incidents, the secretary has in recent years supported compscorer with the process of scoring on the day. The Secretary should not be competing in the events, but should be familiar with sprinting and the bluebook although MS UK scrutineers and others will always be available who have intimate knowledge of it. If anyone would like more info or would like to volunteer pls email me on compsec@caterhamlotus7.club As with many aspects of Motorsport , we need volunteers to allow events to place and will support anyone volunteering for this, you won't be on your own . Thanks Andy
  8. We've had a couple of people drop out of this opportunity to try out sprinting, if anyone wants to sign up please head ove to loveadmin .
  9. I live in North Devon and have Exmoor to play on but it's so much better sprinting when you know the road will be clear around the next bend . I've learnt so much about the way my 7 handles on sprints when the road is clear of other vehicles . the gap between runs can be well used to review where improvements can be made on the next run. and you don't have the hassle of finding somewhere to turn around to have another go at a favorite stretch of road.. I've owned a 7 for about 8 years and wish i'd started sprinting after 1 or 2 years of ownership instead of 6.
  10. just 2 weeks to go and some places still available for anyone that wants to give this a go, bookings via L7club website loveadmin page
  11. Hi can anyone advise the correct part number /source for the throttle cable for a K series with Caterham Roller Barrel throttle bodies ? not finding anything on Caterham website, will phone tomorrow but engine is back together and am raring to go so looking for options.
  12. Pistons were supplied without rings from Cosworth so unlikely these were designed to take Cosworth rings. CC are suggesting std K-series rings 1.0,1.2,2mm (which I can check) but haven't found K-series ring widths yet .
  13. Doing a refresh on my K series R500, I need a set of piston rings but struggling to find out what Minister fitted. Can anyone advise ? thanks Andy
  14. The clubs Introduction to Sprinting is run once every 2 years, the next is 18th September at Curborough Sprint Circuit nr Lichfield Staffs, If you wish you had the circuit to yourself for that opportunity to hit all those apexes then sprinting might be what you are looking for. Our introduction to sprinting is a great way to give it a try, all you need is a 7 that meets the club's track day requirements and a helmet (these should also be available to loan on the day covid restrictions permitting). book via the club's LoveAdmin page. any questions to introtospeed@lotus7.club
  15. Thanks Richard, so user error ! I have tried other 967 .ec2 files which do at least show 0-12000 speed index , bit confused why fuelling is adjusted above 9000 rpm though as it rev limits at 8650 (hard) . Guess i'll need to just connect the laptop back up to the car and read it directly with the ECU connected. Appreciate the feedback Andy
  16. I've been trying to diagnose a poorer than I'd like throtle response on my R500K (few hundred ms lag when accelerating ). I found and fixed a very slow acceleration fuel decay but that lead me to poke about at other settings using a copy of my ECU chipfile (not near the car for a couple weeks) . The Esimap manual says the speed index map must contain valid data ,but it is 32125 rpm across the board (site 0 to site 47) which makes me wonder what the ECU is using because apart from the transient fuelling issue , the car runs well. Can anyone with a 967 tell me if their speed index map has anything sensible in it pls (or share your map file) Otherwise I plan to reconnect easimap and get it to display RPM and speed site , but I am curious how it 'knows' currently to correlate speed site to RPM without this map. thanks for any inputs Andy
