  1. CARS & COFFEE ON THE PROM Sunday June 19 – 10.00am onwards OUTSIDE THE CAYLEY TEA HUT, RHOS ON SEA NOTHING TO DO: Except meet like-minded classic car owners. NOTHING TO SEE: Except some of the smartest, sexiest and cleanest cars in town NOTHING TO PAY: Just turn up. Bring your car WHAT’S THE POINT? Simple. Why run an exotic car if you can’t show it off? Here’s your chance to impress. Plus great food and drink from the café
  2. In celebration of one long-standing member finally getting his car back on the road (you know who you are) we return to our roots for the June 7 meeting at the Glasfryn, in Raikes Lane, Sychdyn, Mold, CH7 6LR, so no excuses if you live on the eastern side of our catchment area. Be there from 8ish onwards. It promises to be a fine night all round, so see you there. Regards Chris Proudlove
  3. After learning about the event in Low Flying, U.S. member Paul Gregory has asked if he can join us at Cars & Coffee on the Prom next weekend. It turns out he is in the UK to collect a 7, new to him and purchased from Sevens & Classics at Brands Hatch, which he intends to export to his home in Maine, New England. Prior to leaving it with the shippers at Southampton, he and his wife, Ann, plan a quick tour around the UK, to include a stop at Cars & Coffee, followed by three or four days blatting around North Wales. I want to make his reception at C & C a memorable event so please do your best to attend to meet Paul and his wife and to show them what a great and friendly club they have joined. Fine weather is on order. Looking forward to seeing you all.
  4. OK boys and girls, we're going up-market for the May 3 meeting, to the imposing Edwardian Plas Maenan country house, set on a hilltop above the A470. Meet at 8-ish - or earlier if the sun is shining - for what could be a smashing photo opportunity if Dave AC can pull off the parking. Those familiar with the roads around Llanwrst will have their own blatting routes, but for ease: Take the A55 to the Llandudno Junction exit and follow the A470 towards Betws-y-Coed for approximately 6 miles, until you see the sign for Maenan village. Slow down at this point or you may overshoot! Plas Maenan Country House is on the left, opposite Dolgarrog Station. Alternatively ... From the opposite direction on the A5, take the A470 at Betws-y-Coed and staying on the A470 go through Llanrwst (keeping to the left) and when you reach Maenan village look out for the hotel sign on your right just after Maenan Abbey. Take care when turning into the drive.
  5. Cafe capers From breakfast at Lyn Brenig to afternoon tea at Cafe Glandwr (and the best ice cream in Wales). An epic exploration of roads seldom trod by Caterhams. Thank you Colin Davies and Elaine and Derek for your hospitality.
  6. Just a brief reminder that the April 5 meeting is at the Ship Inn, Red Wharf Bay, Anglesey. Good food and real ale. I realise it's a bit a trek for some members, but I hope you will make the effort. It's worth it when you get there and I can't wait to drive my car again after the winter lay-up. Just pray for dry weather! See you there about 8ish.
  7. Ah April. Cars come off SORN, MoT's done, insurance rearranged, taxed and ready to go. Sooo, here's an early heads-up to let everyone know the April 5 meeting is, by popular request, at the Ship Inn, Red Wharf Bay, Anglesey. I'll send a reminder nearer the time, but as it's a bit of a trek for some, please prepare. And for those nearer to, or on the island itself, there can be no excuse! In the meantime, get polishing.
  8. March will be upon us soon and the first Tuesday is ... well the first day, so someone needs to make a decision about the venue for the meet. So, I've decided. It will be the Clywd Gate on the Mold Road, outside Ruthin, LL15 1YF. I understand the place has just changed ownership, so it will be good to be supportive. Whilst it is primarily a restaurant, it has a smart bar and does bar snacks. I hope to see as many members - new and old - as possible, particularly those who choose to un-SORN their cars in March and anyone without a car at present but who might be in the process of acquiring one. See you there about 8ish Regards Chris
  9. So, then, it's agreed. The February 2 meet for a noggin and a natter will be the Groes Inn, a venue we have used before. It's easy to get to and there's ample parking across the road. It's also classic car friendly. Kick-off 8pm ish. Go home when you've had enough. See you there. Address: Tyn y Groes, Conwy, LL32 8TN Website: http://www.groesinn.com/
  10. Turns out the Three Pigeons is closed next Tuesday, so the January club meet will be held at the Glasfryn http://Maps.google.co.uk/maps?oe=UTF-8&hl=en-gb&client=safari&um=1&ie=UTF-8&fb=1&gl=uk&sll=53.1779651,-3.1388996&sspn=0.0002136,0.0004752&q=glasfryn
  11. By common consent, it has been decided that the first club meeting of the new year will be a usual on the first Tuesday - Jan 5 - at the Three Pigeons, Graig-fechan, Ruthin LL15 2EU. 12. So who fancies joining me for a curry club night? If everyone agrees, let's meet at this award-winning curry house in Llanwrst on Tuesday November 3. Sit down at 8pm. I'll probably need to book, so numbers please. http://www.dailypost.co.uk/whats-on/food-drink-news/llanrwst-restaurant-named-north-wales-10313082

However, it is open to any marque and anyone is invited to attend. Hope to see you there. THIS IS THE FINAL CARS & COFFEE THIS YEA

Assembly time is 8pm-ish - or when you can get there. (Timings likely to depend on DAC's pilates). Be there or be _____________. Fill in your own words of admonishment.

  19. Dear all We've done our bit for our friends in the Ruthin end of our patch, now it's the turn of our comrades in the Anglesey direction to have an easier journey to the monthly meet. So, it's at The Mulberry overlooking the beautiful Conwy Marina. Dave A-C and I will arrive as soon after 8pm as is humanly possible, so please don't give up on us and think we're not attending.
