If you know the general area, you will know where the petrol stations are. Do you know which ones sell E5 fuel, assuming your 7 needs it. Take it into account when route planning.

It might be worth contacting the French Caterham & Lotus Seven Club, so if you do have a problem, you have a contact who can point you in the right direction of a specialist or garage. There are two contacts in Low Flying for North and South France.

I had a bit of a problem on my R300K where it would not start. It had a good spark. However, squirting fuel into the throttle bodies and away it went and ran fine.
Problem was a bad earth connection on the ECU and the injectors were not firing due to bad earth when cranking and voltage drop.
Took a long time to find it and sorted by S&C.

What about some thick rubber mat nicely cut to fit and held in place by tie wraps.

I was standing close by under cover, when you tried to start your car. I did think that my R300K could suffer the same issue, due to the rain. I am glad your car was sorted and you left running on all cylinders.

I found sitting in the seat and aggressively moving backwards and forwards got it moving. It's very difficult to shift the seat if your not on it. The runners were all jammed up with stones and muck and easy to clean once out.

I have this Machine Mart Polisher. I bought it mainly to polish the exhaust system and it was fine for doing that. I have not used it on the paint, as it is not dual action. I like the fact that there is a speed potentiometer which you can set, so it won't go too fast and get too hot. I'm sure it is a cheap Chinese made unit, but it works for me.

Disconnect the battery at both terminals before you do anything.

I have had an R300K for 12 years and have it serviced regularly at Sevens and Classics. They have never suggested removing the foam and each time it's been changed, it was fine and not degrading. However, regular oil changes and foam changes need to be done. The 5W/50 oil is correct.

Sorry, can't help on the Duratec, as I have R300K.

Is this a K series Rover R300 or Ford Duratec ?

ECR (Roger Swift) will be along soon and will know this.

I would also check the pistons in the callipers to ensure one or more is not seized.

Have you tried 12v direct to the fan connector to prove it works ?

Well done Andrew. You were so helpful when I had a starting problem and this club is very lucky to have your expertise.

Try Redline Components.

That is a very useful chart.

I see you are using Castrol 10W-60 oil for your K series. The recommended oil for the Rover K is 5W-50 (Comma). What are the benefits/disadvantages of using the Castrol oil.
I still believe that your issue is the sender.

I had the same problem with my K series. It was the sender and I'm on my third after 11 years of ownership. They don't last long. I'm not a fan of mechanical oil pressure gauges. Contact Redline and they have them in stock. A five minute job to replace.

Sorry for not replying as I have been away on holiday and back yesterday. So no progress made yet.

In the cue of traffic on M25 near M3 exit due to a lorry fire, a nice red 7, two up with crash hats and no screen. It was just starting to rain as I passed you. I was in a blue Audi A4 Avant with club sticker on rear windscreen.

Ben The Fiesta is 2014 vintage. One Ltr Ecoboost.

My wife's Fiesta has three porous alloy wheels, the fourth is ok. On one rear wheel, over two weeks, the pressure drops from 26psi to around 16. The two fronts tend to go from 31 to 25 in the same period. Now I have never taken a wheel off and immersed it and this is just an assumption. However, to have three leaking tyres is unlikely and they are not that new but good tread.
Does any one have a solution. All rims have the remote air pressure monitors, so the alarm always come up before driving.

Hello Neil
Welcome back and so pleased you have bought another one. Hope Lizzy is well too.
We stayed with Crispin last week. He has moved to near Pershore, although you probably may know that.

Where are you based. I have an R300K and have a working spare sender I can lend you to test it, assuming your local to me of course.
