  1. If not already mentioned it is possible to change the CRB without full engine removal, it involves sliding the engine forward just enough to change the CRB. If I remember there is a guide here on the site.

Although if not conclusive it’s the CRB worth checking clutch and other components via full engine removal.

  2. In line with above message, worth putting the exhaust in desired position whilst supporting the engine under sump and then seeing how much adjustment can be achieved from engine and gearbox mounts, left/right up/down to see if you can clear chassis tube.

  3. Yes thanks Nick, appreciate that, I checked with Darren and that one no longer available. I have got a quote from Oxted to make a new cover.

Still on look out if anyone has a spare one complete.

thanks again Nick for heads up

  4. Hi,

I am looking for a pair of caterham branded later black versions (c2015 onwards) or Schroth Racing Seat black/yellow harnesses, 4 or 6 point fine, they don’t have to be in date.

    Thanks

    Paul

  5. Hello,

Looking for Ideally a R400/420R duratec engine either a base engine or with ancillaries. Would also consider a R300/360R  or standard Duratec engine.

Anyone have one available, maybe following an upgrade for example.

    Regards

    Paul

  6. Hello

Looking for some guidance from those with experience.

I have a fluid leak on a R400 Duratec, from the joint between engine and bellhousing. A small puddle. It only leaks when engine running. I have done the smell and texture test and I can eliminate gearbox oil so it’s either engine oil or clutch fluid. I have pressed the clutch pedal whilst engine not running plus checked sump line for leaks and can’t recreate leak so looking like rear engine seal?

I have a known level now on clutch master cylinder so was looking to run the engine again and see if leak reappears and see if clutch fluid level drops just to confirm. Either way I understand it’s an engine out job. I just want to ascertain fluid type before removal.

    Any other considerations?

Question is, any damage likely if I run the engine again if it might have a rear seal leaking, obviously keeping eye on fluid levels?

    many thanks

    Paul

  7. Hi

I am looking for a 1.6 or 1.8 K Series engine. If it has the Caterham wet sump all the better however base engine just fine.

Doesn’t need to be from a Caterham but needs to be good. I would consider VVC version also.

Anyone have a spare lurking in the garage/workshop? Maybe following an upgrade or a project not progressing.

    thanks

    Paul

  8. Hi, looking for a set of black caterham branded harnesses (driver and passenger), need to be in new or nearly new condition but don’t need to be in date as for a road car. Anyone have a spare set available?

    thanks

    Paul
