  1. That very useful thanks. I currently have a 3,9 LSD which i will keep long term. My 7 is super quick but super revvy! So the ford gearbox is the only option but with different innards to choose? i didn't realize I could choose different ratios?

i have dva k with 205bhp, probably too much

  2. Hi

I have  the 6 speed and am thinking I really should change to the 5 speed. I love the 6 speed for the Sunday morning blat (trackdays are now in my past) so much but as I get older also love touring in my 7 too so the 5 speed would probably be the better option.

Is my only option the ford? I have a K series? Could I have a Mazda box which I hear so many great things about. The 6 speed is electric, I don't want to miss it too much!

    Cheers, Julian

  3. Hi

Tomorrow I plan to do a brake fluid change. I understand it is recommended to start from furthest away from the cylinder and work towards the closest. What is the correct sequence please?

    Thanks, Julian

  4. Hi

No matter what I do, it makes no difference, still faulty. BTW, the mileage is not 77,967 or 22,967, it’s probably around 35k

    Bizzare!

I don’t think I feel inclined to buy another one of the speedos, my car has had 2 already. I think next time I’d like to buy something better quality?

  5. Hi

Thanks K7, I now have a few recommendations to follow up.

It has also have been suggested that I try running the speedo through the programming mode which I have done. All the numbers are displayed perfectly, then it reverts to the fractured mileage display :-(

  6. Hi

The mileage display on my speedo is not working correctly, with incorrect / incomplete / missing numbers. Is it possible to have the unit repaired rather that replaced, assuming the correct milage is somewhere in the electronics inside and it is only the display requiring replacement?

    Its this one.

    Thx

  7. Hi

Somewhat belatedly, I thought it would be useful to post the outcome.

The nice chaps at PGM did my cambelt / tensioner for me.

Whilst I don't have enough knowledge to be sure about the reasons for the noise I suspect when my head gasket was replaced, the old cambelt was over tightened. It got hot in use and stretched slightly. New cambelt and tensioner installed correctly, noise went away!

Engine now sounds perfect and back to being thrashed to 8k as normal :-)

Gary, sorry I didn't think to ask to keep the old parts! It would have been useful.

    J
