  1. Thanks very much for your very prompt reply. Your advise on installation is also very much appreciated David
  2. I am looking to order a mechanical oil pressure kit from Think Automotive. However there is a choice of 2 kits, one kit utilizing nylon tubing gauge line and the other a tfe braided gauge line. Could anyone advise on which is the most suitable. I would assume the braided gauge line would be more durable but possibly more difficult to install Kind regards David
  3. Thanks SM25T, now on order from Redline Components
  4. Can anyone help identify the ignition leads I require for a 2003 superlight R300, 1.8 k-series engine using Lucas distributor cap and remote coil. Who can also supply them? Leads fitted have the following print LEONI SUPPRESSION 2015 SILICONE Thanks David
  5. Thanks revilla, Domus and Madmalc for all your feedback. I will look at all points detailed and feedback my findings. (Could be a couple of weeks as away for the Easter weekend) Hope you all enjoy the Easter break Thanks again David
  6. Just servicing a Caterham Superlight SV R300, year 2003 and noted play at the 12 'o' clock and 6 'o' clock positions only, (9 and 3 Ok) on the front near side wheel. Is this likely to be adjustment (If possible and how), bearing replacement (Inner and/or outer), bearings and hub. If it is a bearing and/or hub replacement, is it necessary to do the front offside bearing/hub at the same time? Thanks, David in Brighouse, West Yorks
  7. Thanks Stu I'll give them ago. By the way, thanks for the congratulations as I am loving the car and yes it is a K-series Cheers David
  8. I bought a second hand Caterham Superlight SV R300 (2003 model) last year with a R400 engine upgrade from a dealer in Harrogate. Unfortunately there was no paperwork regarding who carried out the engine upgrade. The car was originally on sale from the Caterham main dealer south. Caterham have not been able to confirm the engine upgrade was not carried by them. My question is who next are the most likely candidates for carrying out the upgrade? I would like to contact these candidates and then supply them with my cars registration and chassis number to determine whether they hold any paperwork on my engine upgrade. Thanks in anticipation Not sure what the difference is between a blog and a forum topic so posted on both - See more at: http://www.lotus7.club/blogs/engine-upgrade-specialists#sthash.oXcbSRAg.dpuf

  10. Thanks JV and Mankee. I am slowly learning about TADTS. The car goes great (Well it will do again when I fix my immobiser problem). I guess am just not use to hearing all the mechanical noises associated with running a car of this nature. Cheers David
  11. Hi Jonathan, Had the car since March this year and couldn't get it insured until I could prove it had a Thatcham Cat immobiliser. I couldn't get confirmation from the previous owner so took to a specialist in Wakefield who provided me with certification to prove it was of the required standard for insurance purpuses. It has worked fine until the last few weeks where it became a bit intermittent and now has eventually stopped. From the certification I got earlier this year the immobiliser is a Sterling Touch. It does not have a battery in the fob, Cheers David

  13. Thanks Johnathan. Very new to owning a Caterham and to using this website. Thanks very much for the link.
  14. Before the expense of calling out a specialist, has anyone any thoughts as to why my Thatcham Cat 2 immobiliser has become inoperative. I offer up the remote fob but the flashing red light remains flashing and does not go to a solid red light allowing me to start the car
  15. I have a K-series 1.8 engine mated to a Caterham six speed box. (Superlight R300 SV). I have a disconcerting rattle from the clutch/gearbox area whilst the engine is running and the gearbox in neutral. The rattle disappears when I depress the clutch. Do I need to be concerned? What is the likely cause? Do I need to take any remedial action?
