Lardy
Can someone advise the correct oil temp when motorway driving? I have seen the temp increase over the past weeks from a static 80 to 100. Average speed 80 mph about 4500 rpm (not in England of course ) Just recently changed the oil and is correct grade/viscosity as supplied by Caterham. Would this cause it Thanks 2002 Roadsport SV 160BHP 1800cc Bilstein,Momo,Leather,6 speed,Uprated Brakes,TD roll bar,Anti-Cav,Metallic Blue. Stijn LUYCK 1
95% chance you overfilled it slightly ... see if you can remove 1/4 to 1/2liter or so and try again. With my 1.6SS 1/2 liter makes all the difference!! Either 80deg or 100+deg Edited by - Stijn LUYCK on 25 Oct 2005 16:05:
Bricol
I'll second that - I was a little worried about oil level after a blast up the Glossglockner in September so added a bit - oil temp on motorway cruise at 80 plus with a 6spd with a sillily low diff ratio was 80 ish before - after the top up, I saw 110 on a cool evening.
