Alex Wong1697456877
I've just got a pair of 0.25 degree de-dion ends and they both look the same. Shouldn't there be a right and a left one? Also, any tips for changing them? V7 SLR
No Alex. One goes on with the half drilled holes facing outward. The other, inward. Not very satisfactory to the owner but it cuts out tooling costs in manfacturing. Incidentally, the half holes are put their during the manufacturing process and don't actually do anything thereafter.
Alex Wong1697456877
But surely one should camber one way and the other should camber the other way. Also, I don't have any half holes but there are some countersunk ones which are on the same side of both ends. The .25 is also engraved on the same side on both and one is about 1mm thicker than the other (all round). Something seems to be a miss here. V7 SLR
Nope, everything's just as it should be. As long as you have the countersunk holes both pointing to the left, or right (can't remember) the camber will be the same. Basically the ears/ends taper towards the top. Make sure you know which way is the top and the camber will be the same. The countersunk holes are not used. These are what I immaturely called half-holes because they don't go all the way through the ear/end. It looks like you have 2 left or 2 right ears/ends but you don't. Just make sure they go on the same way round and not as a mirror of each other. Want to borrow the build manual?
