GTD
Do you need the glass in one piece? Have one (black) the screen itself has been hit by too much gravel (thanks Paddock Hill ) but apart from that, it's fine. wonkey eyed barmaid
hi geoff, not fussed about glass. but with glass is a bonus. want to make an aeroscreen, by cutting down the windscreen frame and stanchions to about 5" high. how much for the stanchions and screen surround? are they in good nik? wonkey eyed barmaid
hi minty, maybe it was a pic of your car i saw? i thought it looked really cool. was it easy to do? cutting and refinishing the stanchions and screen surround should be fairly easy - but what about cutting the screen - was that a pain? or did you use perspex or something else to glaze the aeroscreen? Red Line Components
I tried out different heights of screen using perspex slotted/taped onto the uncut stanchions, when we got to the preferred height cutting and shaping the metalwork was easy, we ended up getting new glass cut professionally. I was worried about water getting in between the laminations through the top edge and applied some varnish to seal it. Dont use the windscreen washer! I really liked the look and its dead easy to swap back to the full screen. Its currently on a friends 7 I'll try to get some pictures if you like ? GTD
Yes I have the stanchions - the lot came off my car when I switched to a race aeroscreen. All in reasonable condition - used on the car for 2 years, since then stored in the garage for a year. Mail me if you want to discuss - am in West Sussex.
