DC
I'm off to Snetterton on Thursday, and wondered what tyre pressures to use for a track day. I have those lovely 16" Avon ZZ1 tyres with a normal pressure of 16psi. Should I increase this to around the 20psi mark, or maybe even higher. At least the weather forecast seems to be OK. Jan T
Caterham advised me to put high 20's in hot tyres. My SV is shod with Avon ZZ1's on 16inch wheels ! Seems high to me but I know nothing. See you there. Jan C7 RSV.....purple and shiny!
ashaughnessy
I don't know what pressure for your wheel/tyre/car combination, but make sure you know whether someone is talking about hot or cold pressures when they give you a recommendation. The pressure might rise anywhere between 3 and 8psi from cold to fully hot on track. Personally, I use about 24 or 25psi fully hot with my 185/60R13 A032Rs. DC
Thanks for the reply, and I will start at 20psi and then experiment. Now leaving sunny Swanage for a stopover before tomorrow. See you all there. Dave WEL653
